Two scenes from a local farmer's market, photographed with an adapted Minolta MC Rokkor 35mm f/1.8. I really enjoy the character of this lens and the way it renders subjects within their environment.

I took a picture of this young lady in Manado, the northern most part of Sulawesi. I normally ask people that I take pictures of for their information, especially while traveling but for whatever reasons, it didn't happen here.

Can't get any more 'people photography using Sony' than the very beginning of the show - the a7r and FE55. Back then - 2013 - I naively thought Sony would compete with Leica M, as their first lenses were small and light, the cameras too. Then they went all RAM truck on that idea! Anyway, this lovely little girl lives in Saga, a regional town in West Tibet. f2.8 I prefer for people from this one.
The lens got a bad rep for LoCA in reviews, but it was never more than a tempest in a tea cup when it came to actual photography, and that matters more to me. As Voltaire said: "the best is the enemy of the good". The little 280 gram unit is a 7/5 design using for its correction no fewer than five aspherical surfaces. No ED at all, and that's why its 3D pleases many. I suspect Zeiss had a bit to do with it, they gave Sony a leg up in the RX1 Sonnar too, it has a similar layout. Then the CA must be eradicated craze took off.

I'm not always popular. This guy is throwing a stone at me; that's it in line with his walking stick, bottom right. At least he missed the lens! (FE55, Sani Gompa, Zanskar)
