That is a lovely portrait of a young māori girl.
Thank you very much, Alistair! I wished it was done under better shooting circumstances. That was my first time being in your wonderful country and I really enjoyed my 2 weeks there, visiting both islands.

Nothing close to the great portraiture of Joshua or InFocus2014, but I'm sure many of us have received a new lens and cajoled a spouse of loved one to let us take an image of them with it. That's where this one comes from. I received the 50/1.4 GM today and my wife was kind enough to let me take an image in the back yard. It turned out quite nice with the setting sun in the background.

I've had the 50 f/1.4 for about a year and LOVE it. It's mostly used for portraits in my use case. Here's a recent shot with the 50 1.4 on a Sony A7RV.

One thing I enjoy is taking photos of people in their everyday lives, such as at work. I've noticed I get better facial expressions and of course a little more time to do the shot and get it right: 4-5 seconds instead of 1-3 seconds, lol. For the special ones I send them a high quality jpeg to keep, like these below, shot with the Simera 75/1.4 (a mighty lens gatherer I expect to be with me for a loong time):
