Canadian Geese with improved usability: When I started BIF more than 15 years ago with P&S, the Canadian geese were one of the main practice birds (after the gulls) for being large, slower and mostly predictable flight. Any captures back then were a thrill. After a while, still being used but mostly for exposure/settings and reflexes calibration when there are no other birds around.
Took a photobirding trip last Saturday in a nearby wildlife preserve to see mostly shorebirds for the fall migration. While there were already substantial Northern Shovelers, Yellow legs, Mallards and Gadwalls; not too many were flying maybe because of the heat wave and wildfires (north of San Francisco Bay Area).
The Canadian geese were early to fly and I can only press the shutter button. While PC reviewing at home, noticed the good details at 100% look although exposure was more underexposed. Coupled with my current exploration with the Topaz AI plug-ins, blurred original backgrounds seemed to give those pics some interesting look. Some pics that I played with below with only missing thing was on showing the extent of details I've seen during 100% look (somehow cropping reduces that appeal).
