I always like the crazy look of the Northern Mockingbird (and, my wife and I often laugh when we hear them go through their repertoire of songs!)
Nice preview of things to come (I'm going to be trying the A9/200-600 combo) Looks like you're dialed right in with these portraits. Nice grab on the kerplunking too!

I don't know if they're breeding, or what's going on, but maybe a dozen were swirling around in the weeds below
an eagle's nest.
Good sized ones. If I were to guess, I'd say these were 10# plus.
