Maybe it's me, but I find, in these specific images, too much distracting sharpening of butterflies, which,in the first image, looks like the b. has been glued over a flower shot, in the third I find horrible the sudden and strong out-of-focus yellow bloom, which contrasts a lot with the oversharpened butterfly. In the second, the flower in the focus plane is not sharp the same it would be if not "helped" in PP.

Thank you for your opinion on the pictures
everyone is entitled to their own taste
I think they look ok on my screen
not particularly oversharpened (my opinion)
think it will be quite difficult to get both flower and butterfly in focus without focus stacking on this kind of pictures

I don't want to deviate from the topic, nor to denigrate your work, for these particular photos I just found that distracting, not in many of your other pictures. But, as you said, everyone has his taste and opinion, so no problem on my side to not get supported by others' one

Excellent detail by the way, for what I see.

Handheld with the Sony A6400 & Sony 200-600mm. Slowly approached as near as possible and shot with true silent shutter. I could tell from the beaver's body language that one step closer and it would dash into the pond. Also at this close distance, it would not have put up with the noise from a shutter or mirror-slap.

APS-C with no cropping.

Eight river otters (2 moms with 6 pups) have been in our ponds for the last couple of days hunting and eating hundreds of koi (carp). When they came out of the pond for a rest, I was able to sneak up close enough to photograph them without disturbing them. I had to shoot through the branches of a fir tree and could not move more than a few inches in any direction without them seeing me. All handheld shots using silent shutter.

When on land, they just love to pile on top of each other to play or rest. A lot of nuzzling goes on, where one will nuzzle the back of the neck of the other and vice-versa.

The only otters on the east coast of Vancouver Island are river otters. Sea otters are on the west coast of the island.

The 1989 Exxon Valdez spill in Alaska immediately killed over 1,000 sea otters, and removed hundreds of kilometers of habitat from their potential range.
