DIFFICULT DINNER

All taken with 100-400GM and 1.4TC. Started with the A9 and changed over to the A7Riii body for the last couple, to try to get more pixels.

It is amazing what you can do hand-held with the Sony kit...

Helps that he was cooperative!

I think it works! Really well!!

Are you able to use it without a tripod? I had the 150-600S for a while and it got pretty heavy. Also, I had a hard time when I needed to use manual focus while hand-holding. Don't remember exactly, but I think the focus ring was too far back to reach when I was supporting the lens near the end with my left hand. (?) But, the lens was definitely sharp and it seems the the 60-600 is, too!

Great Frigatebird in Galapagos, following our boat. Slightly different from the Magnificent Frigatebird.

Thank you, Roberta, Kim. These were all hand held. Kim, great shots from you too! You may not remember, I bought your Sigma 150-600 Sports last year to use on my A7RIII. The AF at 600mm was just too slow. I didn't update the firmware of the MC-11 and the 150-600 Sports though, that may have contributed a bit to the slow AF at 600mm. I am renting this 60-600 Sports from Lensrental to try it out on the A6400. It looks plenty sharp to me at 600mm, haven't really had a chance to try BIF extensively yet. Will try it for two airshows this weekend. The Sony A6400 + the Sigma 60-600 feels quite a bit lighter than the Nikon D500+Sigma 150-600 Sports I had.

Sorry, the first one isn't really "wildlife".

Lovely shots, Roberta. I did more testing of the Sigma 60-600 Sports on the Sony A6400 today. I am quite happy with the sharpness of the lens. Need to do more BIF testing but BIF opportunities don't come often when I need them.
