I went on a photoshoot with Dan's Camera to the Lehigh Valley Panthers (Flyers minor league franchise) Hockey stadium, to shoot the final game of the season. We had VIP access to various parts of the arena. This was my first time shooting hockey and although I had the D850 I decided to see how the Z6 coupled with the Nikon 70-200F2.8 FL would perform. I was very impressed.
Figured I'd go out to the local open field and get some sunset shots with the bike, and at the same time see how far I can push shadow recovery on these raws in an instance where I'd normally use flash. I think it came out OK.

I am wondering about those aberrations in this last one...
I tried going direct from camera when I first got it... it didn't work too well. ACDSee, what I normally use to import, pretty much locked up scanning every time, and manually copying files was rather slow. The $25 sony reader works great though.
Nikon Transfer 2 - the free utility provided by Nikon, does a great job transfering through the USB cable. The speed is quit OK for USB 3. I have no card reader (yet) but never had any problem.

Are you able to transfer the images from your card while in the camera to your computer or do you need a card reader with these Z bodies?

Thanks guys! I have a Z6 on the way and wasn't sure if I would need a card reader with this new memory design.

But You will not be able to do ~~~~ Firmware UPDATE by using USB.cable/ for this you will need card reader, because you can't copy update file to the card without reader

Ah thanks! I guess I will be picking one of those up at a later date then.
This was literally a day after I purchased my Nikon Z6! Put on the 85mm 1.8G and tested it out. Gotta say, the 85mm 1.8G works amazingly well with the Z6!
Every corner of Italy is a surprise.
Here we are in Bominaco, a small village at 1000 m above sea level in the province of L'Aquila, in the Abruzzo region of central Italy (all pictures with Z6 & 24-70/4).
