Those are the beat shots I’ve seen of that genre. Nice work.

To those of you who have the Z6: what's your opinion of the shutter sound? The Sony A7 series is remarkably loud for a modern camera. Is the Z6 more quiet?

As much as I can say by the reviews and tests on youtube the Nikon Z‘s sound much more subtle to my ears!

Not nearly as loud as a D5 or D850. OTOH, the lens chatter in difficult focusing situations can be annoying.

Hey, Metro Vancouver had the coldest February on record (and the 8th snowiest).

Sweet photos from Mexico! I'm looking forward to cherry blossoms here once this frigid air moves away.

58 really is an amazing lens. My all time favourite. Focus on the z6 is amazing. No worrying about fine tuning.

Great. I had it briefly with my d750 but if I took a photo of the same spot ten times. Probably six would be in focus. It wasn’t an AF fine tune issue. It was just that the d740 couldn’t consistently nail focus with that lens.

What are the disadvantages of putting the Z6 on silent? It won't trigger a flash from hot shoe? anything else?
In other words when are times you want to hear the shutter? Im thinking Im going to pick one up before the rebate runs out.

in some artificial lighting situations you will see severe banding at shutter speeds over 1/125, due to the refresh rate of the lights themselves.

1. the image freezing when shooting Continuous H+, for a sequence of bursts, where the subject is moving a ton laterally or towards me, the slight image stutter, would cause them to move out of my frame, and i wouldnt know because the viewfinder still shows they are in my field of view. For certain pros im sure this would be a deal breaker unless its addressed. Wildlife especially.

I ran into that the first night of hockey shooting. I would've given up on the Z6 then and there, except some kind soul here told me to turn off image review, and the problem was solved. It had one positive side, however: that's how I found out how good the dynamic focusing can be. I'd lose track of the action because I was seeing prior images in the viewfinder, and the target would drift out of the frame because I couldn't track it. But the dynamic focus mode hung right with the subject.
