Yesterday walking in Central Park was my first real test of the Z6 and I am very impressed of this camera (IBIS, focus points all over the sensor, low light capabilities, dynamic range) but I still learning how to use it.

Beautiful shot,

how do you like the 7artisans ? what adapter are you using ?

I'll have to use it a bit more. Definitely has some interesting rendering. Sharpness falls off very quickly from the center. Center sharpness is pretty good though even at F1.1. Corner sharpness is awful even when stopped down. I think my copy of this lens is decentered slightly as well. It's kind of a one trick pony, good for portrait/artistic photos and not much else.

Z6 vs A7III - https://www.diyphotography.net/the-nikon-z6-goes-head-to-head-with-the-sony-a7iii-with-some-surprising-results/

"Looking at this comparison, it seems that if your goal is photography, get the Nikon Z6. But if video’s your thing, then go for the A7III. Neither camera is all that terrible for either situation, though, really."

Does the Zeiss 35 use the focus point since it has contacts
or do you have to use focus peaking on the Z6

Reagan

Great capture by the way

I couldn't find the way to use "arrows" (in-focus indicator, see page 59 of Reference Manual) so I use focus peaking.
However, for static subjects I prefer focusing after zooming the framed image in the EVF. Consider that lens aperture is closed at the set value, so you do not focus with the lens wide open. For the most accurate focus, one should select the maximum aperture, focus, then close the aperture to the desired value, and finally press the shutter button.

Interesting comparison from Slanted Lens between the Z6 and A73.

I think they may have taken the abuse they received on their Z7/A7R3/EOS R review in mind, as this feels less sloppy (ie they actually checked the nikon to make sure it was working before filming the review!)

Cliff notes is that basically they're very evenly matched - ie they excel in different areas but balance out in the end. The Z6 did better from an AF standpoint in certain cases than the A73, but pretty comparable in terms of hit rate. One interesting thing (and something Slanted Lens has noticed in other Sony FF reviews) is the Nikon was about 1 stop brighter at equivalent ISO. Basically what I got from them is that they'd prefer the Sony for video (in part because they are primarily Canon shooters and have a bunch of EF glass to adapt for video) and the Nikon for stills. The model thought the Z6 looked cooler though

Makes me want to add a Z6 to my bag...

50 1.8 again. The lens is super sharp but I think I find the rendering of 28 1.4e a fair bit more pleasing.
