Did you use dymanic af? Any other settings that you change or tweaked for better af other then d8 off.
I have not test the z6 for action yet.

last night i used Wide Small. I spoke with my NPS rep and they said Wide Small is more similar to the D9 that im used to on my d5, so i gave it a go. it actually worked really well. im testing the perfect AF mode for my shoot at UFC 232 next weekend, to determine which is better for me in that scenario, Dynamic AF or Wide Small. i believe Wide Small may prioritize closer subjects, whereas Dynamic AF looks for contrast, but the AF documentation isnt exactly clear on exactly what the AF modes are doing

Can anybody check for me please on your z6 what the slowest shutter speed possible in video is? Some of the Sony models allow you to drag the shutter at 1/4 second so you are able to achieve real time video of aurora borealis at at lower iso.

Thanks!

its slowest is 360 shutter angle. so at 24p 1/24 and thats it. For the northern lights i would use timelapse not video, since its virtually the same thing if its 1/4 of a second in video, and you would have far more data to use since the image size would be roughly 6k

Ya, I've done timelapse and it works okay. Slowest I can go is every 1 second which is still too fast for some of the aurora. Don't think the z6 has good enough high iso to do real time at 1/24th.

its been kinda slow in here, so here you go... More hockey. used the 70-200 vr2 and tamron 15-30 2.8 g2. you dont realize how much sharper the 70-200 is compared to the 80-400 AFS until you use them back to back...

Back to the forest (instead of eating more food).

All with kit lens (also looking forward to picking up 50mm on Friday). I'm sort of tempted to minimize the amount of gear and just take the kit lens & 50mm when I go to Colombia in January (though I know I may regret not having anything wider / longer than that).

Anyone else notice that when you remove the battery when the camera is still switched on, that the shutter comes down until you're able to put the battery back in and reset it? I'm wondering what the reasoning is behind that

Covered the grand opening of EATALY Las Vegas yesterday. I really like the Z6 with the 70-200 in situations where youre trying to get candids (which is generally hard to do when you mount it on a d5), its quite and light, and oddly no one really notices you. though i was asked by a ton of colleagues and other press, about how i like the switch to Sony... lol apparently a lot of people dont know about the Nikon Mirrorless systems yet.

Excellent set Turbo. I like everything about these images. Composition, color, sharpness, and rendering are first rate. Looks like the 70-200 is an excellent lens for the Z6. It also look like you and the Z6 are made for each other.

No sense telling the competition that it is a Nikon not a Sony. Let them figure it out...
