Is everyone enjoying their Z6/7 so far? Any regrets? I am starting fresh in mirrorless (no legacy lenses) and leaning toward going to the Z6 - primarily for the long term ecosystem potential. Any longer term thoughts are appreciated.

I really love the z6, only thing that could be better is low light af. I didn't try af-c yet. I am comparing the low light af to my d850. Overall it is quite a nice camera and a really good combo with the 24-70 f4s.

Anyone complementing their D8xx with the Z6? The former for serious landscape/high detail work, the latter for more general, walk around and low light work (also to pair with MF lenses)?

I currently have a D810 and am considering adding the Z6, so am curious if anyone else has gone this route and their thoughts.

That is what i've done! I have the D850 and the Z6 is the perfect companion!!!

I like it a lot, good high iso and superb color and rendering! It is perfect for portrait and walkaround camera paired with the 24/70 f4s. Mf lense are a charm with the evf and focus peaking + magnification!

It is inferior to my D850 for low light af but other then that , I am quite pleased!

The more I use the Z6 - the more I get used to the way it works. D850 haven't seen much use in the last month.

Why not consider replacing the D810 with the Z7 instead?

i still say that mirrorless in all iterations (sony included), for event work, is still not ready to be my only body, unless they can figure out a way to implement a broad AF assist beam. I often shoot Celebrity events where not even my d5 can focus without a AF beam, where the light is basically -6 ev or more. Without an AF beam its a crap shoot, and thats not acceptable. thats my only real complaint with my z6's, and the a7e and a9 i have used. but it seems manufacturers simly dont really care, ive brought it up to both Sony and Nikon, and they both seemed to shrug their shoulders and suggest i bring a LED flashlight... yeah, they both have literally said that to me.

for now, ill still rock my d5s (ill probably sell one if the z6 does well at UFC 232), and d850, along with the z6s

That’s a great question actually, one that I hadn’t really considered. I guess trepidation with completely abandoning the OVF and native F mount and I figured I could get better low light/high ISO performance in the Z6.

Now you’ve got me thinking about it though and I can see it.

The only time that I miss the OVF so far is with action/moving subjects. I sold my last D800 and got a Z6 + FTZ + 50s to shoot, and I have 2 D500s for everything else.

I went the same route as BSPhoto. I sold my D810 and replaced it with a Z6 + 24-70 f/4 and FTZ. I decided to go this route for the high ISO benefits inherent in the 24MP camera. I can now carry my Z6 mounted to the 24-70, D500 mounted to the 500PF, and D500 mounted to the 80-400G in my FStop tilopa. Even though I carry three bodies mounted to three lenses, I have room for my 20mm f/1.8 or 18-35G w/FTZ and the bag is lighter for hiking and air travel...

Needless to say, I am pretty pleased with the optical and weight savings benefit of my current kit.

Tried the Z6 for a little winter-scape longer exposure and a little higher ISO window shopping through the glass for some color.
The camera is very capable and exceeds my modest needs. Saying that, the camera is very enjoyable in use with everything falling where it should in your hand.

I think Turbodude makes a great point, there are some things the Z7 can't replace, but when I read your use case it seems like the Z7 might be able to handle it all.

Couple more night scenes from Vancouver's downtown (tripod, 24-70 f4). It's not easy to find time to photograph with the day job around, lots of rain and sunset at 4:15pm.

I really love the size and handling of the 35 on the z6. I'm bringing my camera more and more because it's not a big deal (pun intended) anymore like it was with a gripped d850 or d5.

Went to the Global winterland thing in Vegas last night with my GF.

The colors on all of the Z shots I'm seeing are coming out really nice. I'm not sure if it's the sensor or the new Z lenses, but I've been impressed so far.
