My CV 35 Ultron came will test this week. With PCX filter and my one adapter the KF I have to loosen the rear element a quarter turn for infinity. I’ll try my other adapter to from Kippon

Fred, can you share your impression on the Sony vs Loxia when shooting small groups of people. I’m much more drawn to your family pictures with the Loxia than the Sony. To me the Sony looks flat. But one cannot make a fair judgment as the light conditions are completely different. Maybe you could share some images here at one spot to ease comparison.
I will post some side-by-side comparing their rendering at f/2.4. (f/2.5)
Still no one has shot a wide-field astro?
Surely someone.....
I want to hear that 10x zoom and AF was used on a single star.
What the heck, mine will be here Monday, when I get out of the hospital Wednesday I'll do it.

Hiep thanks! Powerful image!
How did you focus?
Owe you a beer in Socorro
Thank you. I used that mountain nearby . I will have to try to use AF for my astro shot. I have always been doing it using MF. Not the best time of the year for the Milky Way so I had to do more post processing to bring out that bit of the MW.
would you all recommend using on an A6000 either the 24GM or the 24/1.8 Zeiss E Mount? Does the Zeiss exhibit higher resolution on the A6000 as it’s imaging area is aimed at a smaller sensor instead of the 24GM which was designed to resolve across a larger full frame sensor? I have the 24GM for my 7r3, but my family member is in search of a 24mm for his A6000. What do y’all think would be sharper and better corrected on the A6000.
Anyone tried the 24/1.4 GM as a 'casual' 35mm lens using the APS-C mode? I played around with it today and really like the results. Although lower resolution, still very sharp with same signature rendering. Here is a sample:
36/2.1 in crop mode (Just call it 35/2... :)
1:1 crop from the image above...pardon the noise, it was shot at ISO 1000
Not trying to steer you away from the 24GM though.
Thanks for advice, I’ve heard good things abt the sigma I think he’s looking for a little longer focal length though. The 24 GM is working great for me for a family photo lens, but my brother who is getting into photography via an A6000 fears the price and size (I know, I can’t convince him that it really is pretty compact).
Would the 24/1.8 Zeiss compare favorably though to the 24 GM on an A6000?
