First rebates/actions for the Z7 overhere.
500 extra on trading in a camera which resulted in a whopping 1400 for my old D800E with original batterygrip plus 128GB CFcard.
Normal price overhere for the Z7 plus FTZ adapter is 3789.
So I ended up paying 2389 (2720US) for the set got a 64GB XQD card for free.(180US)
So I think I did pretty well
(even looking at the lower US prices)
Ordered the 14-30, once it's delivered I'll sell the 14-24.
Just in case someone's still looking for an Arca-compatible quick release plate that will allow mounting/unmounting of the FTZ while on camera: I shared my findings here on the Z6 thread.
This was released late 2018 but I only saw it today, thanks to NR. Suspect that I'm probably not the only user to have missed it. Useful in comparing Z AF modes to the D850
Z7 + FTZ + TC17EII + Nikkor 300mm f/4D AF-S (=510mm f/6.7) + BushHawk stock mount; ISO 1000, f/6.7 at 1/800s; 16% cropped (7.4/45MP). This was in fatct a 2 images focus stacked composition, since the wide open lens + TC combo had a thin DOF.
Nice shot asiostygius. I was playing with similar setup today...Z7>FTZ>TC-20e iii> AF-S 300/4. Compositionally, this shot is nothing, but I was stunned how well AF worked.
With the Z's one XQD slot is it possible to reliably transfer RAW or to a lesser extent, Jpg's via WiFi to a laptop? Gnarbox makes a great portable backup solution, but i'm curious about simultaneously transferring images as their shot to mitigate any XQD failure regardless of how robust they are. My concern is an XQD failure while shooting with a busy, high end client or wedding. I am aware of the remote odds of this actually happening, but a back up solution brings peace of mind to paying clients...and my reputation.

Lance, stunning detail in the bird shots, mostly the last one!
Is your impression that the 500/5.6 is visibly sharper than the 200-500/5.6?
Thank you very much for your kind comments, Jose. Yes, the 500 f5.6 PF is sharper than the 200-500 @ 500.
