Lance, great series !!! Love the variety and sharpness is superb. My favorite is the surfer on the wave and I really don't need the 500PF as least I need to convince myself

I went out yesterday with the following kit and used every lens in the bag on a variety of subject matter just to try out a range of lenses and situations for the AF and general use. My kit: Z7, 31 f1.8s, 24-70 f4s, 105 f1.4E, 80-400 f4.5-5.6G VR, 500 f5.6 PF. Loved the whole Z7 experience and all the lenses worked flawlessly. When the AF gets focus, which is nearly 100% of the time for non fast action subject matter, the focus is *perfect* and the resolution is just amazing. I think I actually end up with more keeper shots from the Z7 than the D850 for non fast action subject matter. Yes, the Af is *that* good at nailing perfect focus.

The problem with any of the ‘generic’ plates I’ve used is that you’d need to remove the plate from the body to mount/dismount the FTZ adapter.
I’m waiting for the RRS plate which is expected to ship in late November
This one fits with FTZ and S lenses. that's why I use this one.

I don't understand what Nikon was thinking here. It's a read headache if you use both native and F mount lenses. RRS was probably scratching their heads too when they saw this and realized they were going to have to go back to the drawing board. Hopefully they will come up with a creative design to work around this limitation.
Kirk Enterprises has a picture of their Z7 L bracket and it looks like they may have left room to attach the FTZ without removing the bracket. Shows out of stock so I don't know if this is shipping yet or not.

Lance, my wallet would greatly appreciate it if you would please stop posing Z7 + 500PF photos. My D5 also keeps screaming "I'm not dead yet!"
Thank you,

Lance secretly works for Nikon and Australian Tourism Board. Maybe also my credit card company and B&H.

. The Z7 & 500 PF does make for a great lightweight combo!
Your D5 is definitely NOT dead, one of the best cameras ever made.
