All landscape and travel.
I'm very impressed with the collection of accomplished photographers we have here on FM.
I'm especially impressed with yours! Really great stuff. It doesn't do me any good, though, to see the lovely long exposures you've got with your GFX system. I can only imagine what full resolution files look like.
I just created an Instagram. I named it after the photography company I recently created as well, but it's a combination of passion and work. Just a student, but I'm trying to make it work. Otherwise, I'm going the engineer route.
Mine is: www.instagram.com/cj.casperson
All landscape/nature photography. Wish I could post more but I don't get out as often as I wished I could. I'm general, pretty jaded on Instagram. It just doesn't feel like a good platform to get much engagement or to even really view the images. Still fun to share with family and friends I guess.
I honestly avoid social media and won’t post images for sure. Just a place to get your images ripped off. It’s happened before to me. In all truth I really don't want to be that public anymore. My daughter is the worst and it really bugs me.
I started posting to IG back in April. Send me a message that you are from FM and I will follow you back. I have years of images to still process and post but there is starting to be a good collection on there now. For clarity since this is the Sony forum there are a mix of shots with Sony, Nikon and a few Canon but I doubt anyone would be able to tell what was shot with what.

IG is deader than dead for photography. Y’all should check out Vero, much better platform all the way around.
The problem is Vero is dead in every other aspect. IG is at least alive and well for the rest of the world. How do you build up much of a following/community on Vero? I've been interested in giving it a shot but it mostly seems like a slightly better photography platform with most of the same issues IG has.i like they on IG I can at least share with family and friends even if no one else sees it.

I’m glad I’m not the only old(er) curmudgeon around here. 🙂. With you 100%.

Yes, it is infuriating the way Adam & Co at IG have decidedly abandoned photographers (you know - the people who made IG successful in the first place) in their frantic, money-driven choice to be a tik-tok wannabe. The engagement I experience is a fraction of what it used to be.
*There is one little secret that most people don't know about though: If you click on the Instagram logo in the top/left corner, you can then select "Following", and now your feed will only be those you follow instead of all the ads and garbage that IG thinks you want to see. You have to click on that option each time you open your page, as it doesn't stick.
It's been interesting to watch the masses run over to Vero, but going from one's large number of followers to starting from scratch doesn't sound too appealing, and I have to wonder how long will it be until the people at Vero start making crazy direction choices too. They will have to monetize it at some point, so perhaps users will eventually have to pay?
I have a small gallery up on IG just to have a presence but I don't actively post. My account is kind of there to get tagged/mentioned... and then curious people tap on my @ and see I indeed exist.
IG is great for communicating and keeping in touch with clients and friends in the field. Just liking others' posts and watching their stories can mean a lot to them too.
Follower numbers on Instagram mean literally nothing now. I shut down my account with 10,000 followers because only 200 of them were seeing any given post. The algorithm completely favors video content over photos, and if you aren’t paying to sponsor your posts, or if you aren’t making ADHD friendly reels, you’ll never get seen any more.
I’m not particularly interested in growing a huge following on VERO, it’s just a decent place to have my high resolution photos available to the masses that’s not Flickr.
IG is using every dirty trick in the book to try to keep you scrolling forever. It’s stupid and toxic.

For the little interest I have it in it still: Instagram but also Vero as the alternative. Don't have much following anywhere, just nice to post images up from time to time.
