I post a lot more on it's sister website, Threads. I'm finding that I'm getting more conversations with people than on Instagram, and I use it to post outtakes, talk process, etc. Things that don't always seem well suited for Instagram. https://www.threads.net/@chuck4242
I don't have an Instagram account. What differentiates it from other photo posting platforms? Is it just traffic? I know they are wildly popular. Is it communication with others being easier ? My experience is Instagram seems to be better suited for dog videos and celebrity stuff and people posing barely dressed and singing and dancing.
I'm going to convert the energy I spend into posting on IG in a new direction...for anyone interested in my work and seeing it with more context than a drive-by IG or FM post offers, or who might enjoy looking in high res on desktop instead of their phone, I'm doing a "Photo of the Day" on my site with an easy signup for links delivered to your inbox (no ads).
