^beautiful raptor Arash. Glad you are liking the 500PF.
So the 5Div isn't BIF'able ? I left the EOS system right before it came out, so no real interest other than base curiosity.
The 5D4 is certainly BIF'able....Arash is referring to the combo of 400DOII + 2xTCIII on the 5D4....that starts to have issues I agree....needed the 1DX2 to make that lens/TC combo be reliable for BIF IME.
10 star review by Perry; he just does an excellent job covering everything.
Good he covers good and bad.
I think some, of course not all, of the deficits with the 500PF are because
so far it has to be married to a DSLR

Yes, anything married to a DSLR is compromised.... Some have yet to see the light on that...but give it time and the paradigm shift will occur....
Arash thanks. Yep, I missed the point. Sorry about that.
I've got a good friend who has 7Dii and 5Div......I've not
said anything to him ~not my place in all~ but I've noticed
he hardly ever uses his 5Div to BIF. Now I know why.

If y’all are out shooting today with your z7 and 500, have you noticed any limitation with the focus area using a TC?
Do you mean as in coverage of AF points for the whole frame? Or do you mean how well they focus in the outer areas?
Lots of really great wildlife photos being posted with this - but is anyone using it for racecars??
I'd love to see some shots and hear some opinions with it - The 500/4's are pretty much permanently out of reach, but it's conceivable that I could grab one of these someday (provided I sell my current gear off). Price-wise (and application-wise), it'd be competing with a used 300/2.8 + 1.4x for me, with the added benefit of having a lot less weight/bulk to carry around, but trading off the flexibility of having 300/2.8 + ~420/4, and costing a bit more $$.

Well if I have it by June 2019 (not holding my breathe as the supply is terrible in Canada so far) then I will photograph F1 in Montreal and report back....hopefully someone else will come along with race car photos before that

I was just looking at the Austin Circuit of the America's next week, if I can get my credentials, I'll post some images.

Yes, hopefully someone else will be able to chime in before that, but would still really love to hear your thoughts on it afterwards! Especially from someone who has had their hands on so many of the high-end teles, and uses the gear I currently shoot with (A9 + 100-400 GM).

That would be much appreciated! The 24hr race? That should be awesome - I'm jealous. I'd love to shoot at COTA someday (or anywhere with credentials for that matter, hah).
