I have bought a bunch of stuff from Cardinal. If they have the item in stock, they are great. If not, they can be slow. Still, Kurt is a good guy with competitive pricing and is an authorized seller. In general, I have had good experiences though shipping has occasionally been slow.

Just wanted to add that after several emails and Greentoe support adding their CEO to the thread, I suddenly received the lens about 2 months from the original order. There was no update to the tracking number provided or any other update that it was shipped so in these days of package thefts I was lucky that it did not disappear. While I am happy to have received it, the effort and hassle was not worth the savings and will be finding out if Cardinal Camera can be removed from my Greentoe account. I would say with several people encountering the same problem, the title of the thread is quite accurate. The gaslighting paid shills like Amol Thorat who want to bury the legitimate experience of so many customers and spout their mouth off with zero actual experience of what multiple people have encountered are unfortunately typical of the many problems facing the photography industry today. I know this is probably lost on you but consider spending time on something you have had experience with or to gain some experience in an area that would be useful rather than being an internet troll attacking others for sharing their experience. I hear that the unemployment is soon running out.

Stop whining. I've never had an issue with Greentoe, but if you do, and it bothers you this much, then go somewhere else and pay full price, but be warned, even Amazon makes mistakes. So does B&H, Adorama, and any other retailer you might possibly use.

1. Issue was never with greentoe.
2. All other retailers return without hassle. They would never DARE to claim that return period starts from when an order takes place rather than when an item is received. If they did, no one would use them.

I had a bad interaction with greentoe recently. But it was related to buying a dishwasher. They went through a place called Goedeker's (horrendous reviews). It took over 2 months for the dishwasher to arrive and they never informed me of anything... And were very difficult to reach. I tried to cancel but then they told me the dishwasher had already shipped... but hadn't informed me, of course.
Had to wait forever... for a dishwasher.
Of course, things went smoothly when I bought another strobe but that was because they used Adorama.

I used to work at Merck in West Point. This store was right down the road. These guys would literally say, "What can I sell you today" when you walked in the store. I will never forget getting some enlargements done by this store, and literally throwing them in the trash as I walked out. The photos were absolutely screwed up and the sales person refused to even acknowledge the issue. You should trust your FM colleges rather than promoting useless arguments online. These guys are crooks, IMO.

So, you're saying I should trust the opinion of a stranger over my own personal experience just because we're both members of FM? By that logic, shouldn't he just adopt my position? Or is there some kind of secret ranking system in which he outranks that I'm unaware of?

I just bought a canon rf 15-35 from them, I also bought an A7R3, A7R4, A6400, 200-600; tamron 70-180 and some other small items from them in the past. Do they provide BH and Adorama
level of service? No. But they give you a decent discount, and they don’t collect sales tax on your behalf. That could mean several hundred dollars of saving on the big ticket items. Do you want to save money and deal with the hassle if things go wrong? It’s your money. I will continue to buy from them if I think the saving is worth the risk.

I am saying that if someone here has a bad experience (especially if that is mirrored by others on the same thread) then that experience is just as valid as yours. In general, I don't see FM people outright lying. If someone has a beef here I take it at face value. That was their experience....and it is valid one. It might be different than mine but it never works to marginalize someone else's opinion because you think yours is better.
My experience was that I used to live just down the street in Lansdale so this was my local photo store while I was at Merck for 7 years. I am not claiming that every transaction with this store will go bad, I just happen to personally know these guys and I can see why some will complain. They can be rude and irritating. So yes, if you have had a good experience then great. I acknowledge that. I have as well. On the other hand, I have also had some really bad in-person experiences physically at the store. If someone calls them a crook...I get that as well. There is room here for all opinions to be correct. By the way, I still order from these guys occasionally, but I don't expect good customer service if there is an issue. So you take a chance in my experience.
Point is you have your opinion, others have theirs. We should all respect that.

Hey man, I feel your pain. These guys have REALLY pissed me off several times. I even contemplated throwing a brick through their store window, and that comes from a typically rational scientist. They are worse in person than on the phone. But, you are not going to change them so you got to let it go.....speaking from experience. It's been long enough so I can laugh about it. You can get good deals from the store - especially the Ebay store outlet. I just don't expect good service from them if something goes wrong.
