And it really gives a unique look close up. I finally found a good 70-200 2.8 in this rental I have. I may just buy it. Also folks the A7III is really good. Still in the middle of this big show but I’m liking this cam.

By the way, there is a Laowa 15mm F4 also, a native E mount lens. Its a 1:1 macro lens too. For some reason, its advertised, stocked here more than 15/2...

The images look good, they definitely nailed it with the sunstars! may be too much distortion in the first image (but easily correctable)?
The 100mm filter holder would be a huge feature!

The images look great to me, sunstars too.
I have some 100mm Lee filters, so an option to use those on such an extreme wide angle would be very nice. I think it is also quite an accomplishment that they can include even that opportunity.

These samples are very nice. Rarely do I preorder something but I did with the 24-105 and that worked out great and I’m also pre ordering the voigtlander 110. I’ll probably pre order this as well.

The option to use front filters, especially polarizers that aren't practical as a rear filter, would make a big difference to the utility (and I suspect uptake) of this lens.

My source told me that Laowa will supply ND filters for the rear slot of this lens. If someone wants to use a different one, the thickness/type of the glass will literally affect IQ, so we will have to experiment with that. The rear slot will be a 37mm screw thread one so its quite easy to buy anywhere.
I was told that rounded CPL filters will probably not work well and be troublesome to use on the rear slot. However, it looks like the front 100mm holder will support square/rectangle filters like GND, ND and CPL.

Sunstars look great; like old Canon five straight blade lenses. Nice.
Its obviously very hard to judge resolution in images this size, and where you don't know how the plane of focus cuts through the image or the aperture. But maybe, just maybe, these seem a little less crisp in places I'd hope they would be. But we'll see!

I think it may be wise to lower our expectations as this is the widest zoom for the E-mount and may not quite match the IQ of the best primes in this range. Still, it may replace my primes when shooting travel and landscapes. The sunstar rendering gave me a lot of hope.

These images look encouraging.
I do see barrel distortion in the first shot, and it's hard to tell if this has moustache as it goes into the corners -- that would be a no-no for me, shooting buildings with perspective.
I've been very happy with the Sony 12-24G, so this would have to be pretty tremendous for me to have any interest.
