😃 Naming the retailer who fulfilled your order will not stop the online price haggling that happens on GT. It’s setup the way it is exactly for that. This Ecomm platform helps customers find bargain deals that retailers are more than willing to fulfil. So there’s no question of MAP or other manufacturer imposed limitations. It’s also rarely pointed out they GT is an affiliate with many dealers in US including Adorama. There are obvious benefits to this and it’s better everyone knows about it than treating GT like a sacred cow! 😐
I ordered the A7 iii with 28-70 kit lens just last week.
Got my shipping confirmation last night (paid $20 extra for expedited shipping).
I'm getting my kit on the 11th.

Do you guys know if they (sellers) really wait until April 10th to ship these?
They don't (at least not if you paid $20 for expedited shipping).

I called the store that has my order through Greentoe. I was told my Kit will be shipped today (9th) or tomorrow (10th).
That's quicker than I thought it would be.
Same here. They told me that the tracking information will be available tonight on my Greentoe account.
Going on a trip this Friday morning. Hopefully, I will receive it by this Thursday.

i agreed. Few folks in here act like all "underground" crap. I've been a customer to GT since the day they just launched and i would say 90% of my GT ordered fulfilled by Adorama. The latest order for me via GT/Adorama as my Leica M10.

I way I view it is, I've entered into an agreement to buy a product at a price that is under market value.
Within the communication of Greentoe, I was asked not to say who I'm getting it from.
Why wouldn't I keep up my end of the deal?

Who would pay retail nowadays? Look at how we've been buying new car, booking air fair, hotel, rent a car.. Also, what we share here is within FM community. It is a win/win for both GT and their affiliate.
also, spare me the "keep the end of my deal" crap..you would be ok to read the info that other share here then you using that info to enter in your bid price..but it is not ok for you to share? Get real
What some if you fail to realize if you keep saying I got a deal below the MSP with a Sony dealer attached to it by name . That Sony could cut that said dealer out of inventory because they are undercutting other dealers. Which is basically a under handed practice that can hurt the dealer network. Also you went into a agreement with GT your asked not to say something it’s not unlawful in any way to name the dealer but your asked not to. That comes down to your intergrity, your ethics and your honesty. Seriously what is the purpose to say the dealer. You made your deal you get your agreed price be happy and move on. But it’s pretty obvious here there are some I would not trust to hold a 20 dollar bill for a couple days.

Guy, with all due respect, you are misleading the FM community here. Just talking about integrity and ethics, you are trying to silence others. There's no agreement published on GT.com which states that users shouldn't talk about dealers once their orders are fulfilled. Also, when GT has asked users not to mention the dealers, it's not their intention to stop manufactures from knowing about the price or fulfillment. In spite of all this, why would you care if the dealers/reps themselves are here vouching for their participation in the program. Stop policing the community and let folks speak for themselves.
My cc shows the name of the company that i believe is the seller of A73 for my GT order.
Also, can’t help but think with all thse talks on here & DP forum of people ordering seconds, minutes after order page going live...i’m wondering late will I get mine. My GT order was towards end of March and yes, cc was charged on that preorder date.
I am not getting the sense that Guy (or anyone else, for that matter) is trying to “police the community”. Just expressing an opinion which happens to differ from the opinion held by others. It has been a respectful discussion up to this point. Maybe we have reached a point on this particular issue where more discussion isn’t really needed or likely to be useful. If some people wish to name the dealers, that’s their prerogative. If others wish not to, that’s also fine .

Is this an open invitation to Fred to close the thread? Just couldn't help but think.... When someone objects, it doesn't mean it becomes disrespectful rather it shows that there's a different point of view which invariably needs to be listened to. Everyone who doesn't already know, should be in a position to know what GT is and what their operating model is. They aren't offering lower prices by undercutting prices rather they are using affiliate programs which is where a dealer is also an equal participant.
I think you’re reading too much into my words. I’m not calling for the thread to be closed at all, and I certainly didn’t say that disagreeing with someone’s opinion was disrespectful. Let’s not create strawmen .

No offense (to anyone) here but as soon as I read someone mentioning about integrity, honesty and ethics, I feel like there should be a "Dislike" button under each comment

When users here are openly questioned why they name their dealers or are accused of not keeping their dealer to themselves, what are we to imply other than being policed? No one needs another person to read them their rights here. If it's unethical, it simply is. No ifs and buts about it. Nothing unethical or secretive is going on here about GT.
