If the Voigtländer 21/3.5 FE turns out to be nice, I'd like a Voigtländer 90/3.5 FE as well, which could be combined with the Zony 35/2.8 for a small & light kit.
Yes, every time I put my 90/3.5 SL-II on my A7RIII I'm reminded of just how good this lens is and how nice it would be to have a native mount version.
Hopefully with the Nikon Z series out Voigt will make a mirrorless native mount version of this lens for E and Z mounts. It would be EZ

Any chance someone could create a Voigtlander 21/3.5 thread for this....Fred? Every time I see a new reply I get excited about the 110.....

I suppose Fred will open a pre-order thread, but it's still early morning in parts of the US, I think.

I asked the UK distributor this morning and they expect the 110 will ship sometime in November.

Will it be offered in M mount? I hope it will.
We don't know, but I think that is unlikely. This lens seems to be a pretty extensive revision of their 125 f/2.5 macro for SLR cameras for Sony E mount. I think it would be a lot more than a simple tweak to make it work for Leica M. For many Leica M users it would also be considered too big, and for those that it wasn't too big they might well opt for the Leica R 100 f/2.8 APO macro.

It would be interesting to compare the V21 to the Olympus OM 21/3.5.
i doubt it the olympus would hold up. the contax g 21/2.8 with a pcx kills it in the mid zone and corners. the olympus is decent and falls off slowly, but really not very sharp compared to a modern 21mm. i predict this will have better corners at f/3.5 than than the oly at f/8.

I agree, the optics really must have moved forward over 3-4 decades.
The greatest similarity will be that the aperture and focus rings move in the same directions and are placed the same way on the lens. That is nostalgia more than enough.

Olympus OM film SLRs was my first camera system.
For the wide angles I agree but the vintage telephotos like the OM 200/4 and 200/5 as still quite competitive, except for CA correction.

medium telephotos and normalish lenses from 70 years ago can be great. anything 24mm or wider or 300mm longer has become dramatically better over the last 30 years.

Not sure I'd go back 70 years for that statement, maybe the 70's (my 400/5.6 ED AI and 300/4.5 ED AI Nikkors are extremely good right from wide open at 42.5MP. Not sure anything made in 1948 in the 24 to 300mm range will be that great, even at 24MP.

i meant the 28-200mm range. the 24mm and 300mm lenses were not included in the good just postwar range.
