You got the 40 1.2 at a depreciated rate? The lens is still pretty much in demand.. how much did you pay for it? VE or VM?
"...I would jump in early but not for these lenses" - What do you mean by this statement?
Yes, I did and if I would sell that lens, I know I won't be loosing money but i am not planning of doing that; it is really that good.
I am evaluating my needs and everybody's needs vary quite a bit. I would jump in early on lenses that I know I need right away to get me images that would be otherwise very difficult to capture without. I do have other lens or lenses that can get me similar images to the CV 40mm f/1.2, for example.

Also, during the E-mount infancy, there were a lot of gaps in the line-up. Nowadays, not so much, so we really don't 'need' anything else.

This works 'most' of the time but it really depends on supply and demand. When a lens is superb, it takes a long, long time to depreciate. Unless you buy it used which is a different story.
Yes, I bought it used; that's what I meant. Waiting until depreciation takes place maybe a year or so; e.g. the Batis 135mm.

Hey, the Batis 135 is a case of its own.
I knew how you would react as soon as the Batis 135mm was brought up . I know another person that would do the same and that "Guy" lives in Phoenix area .

Yeah, good for you in that case
I recently moved from Nikon to Sony and got the A7RII. Picked VE 40mm 1.2 as first native lens. Quite liked it
Shipped all my Nikon stuffs to sister who is getting her hands into photography
So I wanted a longer lens along side my 40 and thought this 110 could be a great addition. It should serve portrait+macro+intimate landscape. Didn't buy the 90mm as this 110 lens was in line.
I once took the 65mm from a friend and liked it very much. Assumed that 110 should have similar image signature. So had pre-ordered it but this news really bummed me up
For wide angle I am waiting for 21mm 3.5 to see how it fares compared to the Loxia. Accordingly will decide. This is not a problem as I can stitch pictures for wider scenes.
But really needed a long lens. Now I need something else for my upcoming trip

If you need or want a 21mm lens, the Zeiss Loxia is wonderful in that FL, unless you are married to Voigtlander, that is. Personally, I like an AF lens in the longish FL although the CV 110mm Macro is intriguing. I am happy with my FE 90mm macro for my macro purposes though. This is the case where I can wait until an opportunity comes up... .

Yeah.. If Voigtlander 21mm and 110mm were not announced, I would have taken the Loxia 21mm and Sony 90mm/Batis 135mm by now without a second thought. But going by the lenses that Cosina is rolling out, I certainly have developed an affinity for them specially after using the 65.
Completely agree that for longish FL AF is a big plus, but the 110 mm would have given me >105mm for portrait/LS and 1:1 macro. so, AF of Batis 135 vs 1:1 macro 110, tough call. I cant afford both. And the 90mm has somewhat lesser blur potential for a portrait lens. Wanted to have a combo for 3 lenses: 21mm, 40mm and 110mm
Lets see, I may have to rent meanwhile.

Google translate produced this: "We have announced the release schedule and guidance in August, but due to the production circumstances of our company, we truly apologize, but we will postpone the release date.
For customers concerned, waiting for this product, everyone concerned, it is a great inconvenience
We apologize from the bottom of your heart that you will be charged.
Regarding the release date after the change, I will guide you as soon as it is decided.
Humbly, thank you for your understanding."
Nothing about what these "production circumstances" consist of.

People who ordered from the US distributor got an email about the delay. In that email, there was some conjecture that it may be due to the popularity of the 40 1.2.

BH lists the CV 40 at $1099?? Several CV 40s on the B&S board recently listed for $950, not sure what they were actually sold for. The $100 saving is not attractive enough for me so I bought a new one from Cameraquest.

I'm on the pre-order list too, very disappointed that we're in for at least a few month wait. I thought about repurchasing the Sony 90 macro, but I've planned my lens purchases around the 110 and it will be better for me to wait. As long as I have the 110 come spring, I'll be happy. The CV65 does an awfully good job at 1:2 macro in the meantime...

Scott,
Add the Marumi 5+ achromat to your 65/2 APO and you will have 1:1 Macro until the 110 comes around.

Dang I would have posted the link a week ago but couldn’t join the forum with my hotmail address...
Anyways, having owned the Zeiss 100mm f2 and Voigtlander 125mm at the same time I have high hopes for the new 110mm.
From the review, some of the bokeh I’m seeing certainly reminds me of the 125 👍🏻
