That's interesting. On my Sigma 100-400, the Metabones is utter garbage, and the Mc-11 is near native speed.

I have tested both the MC11 and Metabones and for the two Sigma lenses in my possession (135mm and 105mm) the Metabones works better.

metabones supports a huge array of lenses, but for some newer lenses, it can be a disaster. The sigma 100-400 is probably in that range, as was one of my lenses. I also have super old lenses that the metabones can AF with ease, and until the past few months, metabones was better with the 135A, but the tide has changed. 135A + MC-11 = native lens practically.

The AF on the native sigma 35mm is fast on AF-C but hunts slightly (we're talking a fraction of a second) on AF-S, but since I'm a back button focus guy I never use AF-S so it doesn't matter much to me. This is on an a9. I'm happy with my copy, no complaints here.

Where you guy buy the lens? They are all saying preorders
Ordered mine off eBay since there was a vendor that listed that they had 10 available. However, after I placed my order, I got a notification that the vendor was away for a few days. Not sure what that means as far as when they will be shipping. We will see....
My copy just arrived. It is indeed beastly. Quite impressively built. But make no mistake, it is every bit as heavy and large as people have said.
On another note, I am apparently one firmware version behind with the MC-11 and the lens is completely non-responsive. It is however operable with the MB IV already. No chance to play yet as I have to take off soon. Will try to get some hands on time this evening.
All the samples I have seen online doesn't seem to impress. Seems the 135mm 1.8 and the 105mm 1.4 are on par with performance. Will have to wait for more comparisons.
Have only run about 50-100 shots through it over the weekend as shooting opportunities have just been sparse. Some samples (albeit ones that are definitely not prime examples of what it can do).
For those wondering about AF performance, it is definitely solid so far in both AF-S and AF-C (wide/spot selection/zone). Haven't tried the tracking yet as I haven't had an opportunity to shoot anything that would actually be a stress test for it.
Tried chasing some dragonflies earlier today. AF-C Wide Area AF - all at wide open. Several of the full shots and crops. Did pretty well all the way out to the edges. Quite pleasantly surprised considering how small they were in the frame in combination with how erratic their flight patterns were.
