Not sure if I’ve ever seen so much quality from one trip ever. It is actually hard to believe this was all from only 10 days. Brilliant and another well earned vote from me! And I'm sure a few are happy you took a few weeks off to give some others a chance to win TOW

Wow! Love the rainy day pictures!
Douglas
thanks so much Douglas, This was my first time shooting wildlife in the rain. thanks to my group leader I was prepared with the rain gear both for the camera/lense and me.
Not much to add to what has already been said, although I will say that there's a handful of species here that I have not seen during a handful of trips to Costa Rica.
Terrific, KD!
Greg
P.S. 38 is a female Scarlet Tanager; also the back bird in 7 is a male Green Honeycreeper
Very nice set.
Just curious to know if these are from one location? I have heard folks spend quite a bit of time in a hide and the variety of species depends on the location.

Oh KD, what a magnificent set. All so very well done . The rain, the rain drops of the subjects and foliage just make for some intriguing work. I’m really in awe of the variety , the clean backgrounds ,the compositions , well everything!
Birdie
thanks so much Roberta for viewing and commenting. You must be excited about your upcoming trip. I am sure you will be coming back with a ton of amazing shots. Eagerly awaiting viewing them

This is as good as it gets! Damn you, KD ... but how can we top this? You have an amazing collection from only 10 days in CR. I don’t think I will have quite as good of a collection if I spent a month there! So kudos to your photography skills!
thanks Bobby, appreciate the viewing and the comment. As I mentioned to Birdie, you will rock. I was shooting almost 6-8 hours a day. I guess the rain forest allows you to do that.

thanks my friend. appreciate it. Love you BE pics.
Magnificent Set!
The variety is amazing, the colors, BG's, sharpness, detail all excellent, and then you add little killer features like the tongue of the bat, for one example.
I am curious about the EXIF on these.
KD, you meant excellent image heavy, right? I enjoy looking at them all but I do love the bat images as my chance of seeing that on my next trip to CR is slim to none... . You didn't spend a month over there, did you?
Another amazing set, KD. Red headed barbet is my favorite (cuz I never got one on my trips to CR), and seeing the aggressive hummer with a rival's feathers in his mouth - that's a unique shot! You did great with rain and difficult light. Just a wonderful group of images. Congrats!
This is an outrageously wonderful set of images KD
You did a great job shooting in the rain and somehow at slower shutter speeds most of the droplets are not hindering the images.
#40 IMO could use a little work on pulling back the highlights to bring out even more tonal range in the cheeks and the bill and a bit more depth into the darks. I absolutely love the colors
#41 perhaps a different crop in horizontal?
#39 is a sweet crop
#34 is stunning!
#33 nice handling of the back/side lighting, nice dimensional feel in this shot
#16 is super terrific
#26 for me could be one flower shorter and a tighter crop in from the right but I will tell you it stopped me as I scrolled through, wonderful concept on the crop and a very unique image presentation, nice
#12 excellent use of the branch and nice placement of the subject
#4 not sure that comp works?
#3 Love comp and pose and color and BG, excellent!
#1 your opening shot hooked me good KD, I have scrolled through these numerous times for enjoyment, you did an amazing job on the photography and processing and presentation
Another vote for you sir.........

KD, this is an absolutely amazing set, and it shows your expertise behind the lens. The colors, clarity, BGds, perches and the variety of subjects is awesome. I have 40 picks, The only one I didn’t pick was the cara cara but only because it was stepping away. I am curious to the lens or lenses used for these ? These will be tough to beat, so I voted.
thanks so much Herb for your comment and viewing. Also appreciate the C&C regarding the cara cara. I'll go thru my pics to see if I have one that is not of the bird going away.
I mostly used the canon 500 mm ver 2 with and without 1.4 tc on 5div body and a 100-400, 100 mm macro and 70-200 mm on a 5d3 body. Thanks for the vote, really appreciate it. looking forward to shooting with you soon
