Blast from the semi-past here!!!!!! I dunno what happened to me but here I am...again!!! Hope everyone is doing well!!!!! Since the last time I've talked to or seen anyone I've photographed 3 weddings and got another one booked for next year!!! Last weekend my dad (Greg) and I went to photograph the Chili Cookoff at Stone Mountain. Sadly, all the years we have lived in Stone Mountain that is the first time we went to the cookoff but at least we photographed it!!! Just wanted to drop by and say hello to my old friends!!!!
Actually I live around Philly, but I have a conference in atlanta next week. I think I am free to shoot in the coming weekends (especially Sun.). Because it's my first time to visit atlanta, do you have any suggestions about the places where I should visit?
Thanks for your suggestions in advance. And sorry for interrupting you guys. Because my question may be not related to your topic

Louvre Atlanta is an exhibit that opens next week end at the High Museum. The Georgia Aquarium, Zoo Atlanta, Atlanta Botanical Garden, Callaway Gardens, Stone Mountain, World of Coca-Cola, CNN Tour, etc. The Smokey Mountains aren't too far with the leaves starting to change soon. Toccoa Falls, Tallulah Gorge, etc.
I wish I could have made it. I just had too much going on this last weekend. Nice shots. Maybe next year.
And thanks for all the happy birthday wishes. I'll have to post a couple of shots from Friday. I just installed a new version(5.0) of PhotoShop Elements and I'm just playing around with the settings.
Welcome back Britany. Hope you are enjoying the wedding photography. I thought about going to the Chili Cookoff but had too many other things going on. I have never made it there for the cookoff either which is a shame because I'm at the mountain at least 2 or three days a week. Fall is here and hopefully we can get something together for a group outing again soon. I'll be back and forth between here and Florida a lot for the next couple of months but hopefully dates will work out for a get together. Tell your Mom and Dad hello.
Robin - The trip to Road Atlanta was hectic as I lost my wallet that morning and spent most of the day calling credit card companies to prevent any use on them, getting a replacement drivers license and going to the Bank for more cash. I had planned to be there by noon and ended up getting there after 6:30 pm so all the good light was gone. I had never shot anything like this at night and the speed of the cars made it a challenge in keeping focus and the car in the frame, all in low light . Lots of panning and trial and error with shutter speeds and ISO settings.
Hopefully things will work out much smoother next time.
Hello Britany! I trust you are doing well, say Hi to your dad for me.
Well like Grant I too have a busy schedule this month. I'm off to Costa Rica on the 14th to photography the rain forest, I will be returning on the 22nd. I'd really like to get together and do an outing. Hopefully we can all have a Fall shoot, I'm open for most anything.
I spoke with John and he seems to be ready to get into high gear as well. If anyone would like to start an outing for for the weekends of Nov. 11th or the 18th.......count me in.
My family and I just came back from TN and we drove by Smoky Mountains and It looked breath taking since autum is in full bloom up there. But I am game for anything as well but I just need to plan ahead since I have a second job on the weekends but it is on a "as needed" basis.
I'm up for the weekend of the 18th of Nov. Why don't we had up towards brasstown bald. I have never been there or does anyone have a different suggestion. Or how about a trip over to Brasstown Falls in South Carolina?
Just returned from Unicoi, TN and drove through both Cades Cove and Cataloochee Valley. Leaves will probably peak in another two weeks as there is quite a bit of color there now. November 11 will probably be too late for the leaves and color but okay for wildlife. Have some pictures that I will post later.
Cades Cove was bumper to bumper for the whole 11 miles with stalls that lasted long enough for the Rangers to come in and speed people along. There were numerous Bucks and Does both during the early morning and a Mother Black Bear with three cubs that we saw twice during the drive through. Cataloochee Valley much less crowded and the Elk were very active at 5:00 pm.
