Wow. 146 pages? Could anyone summarize?

Is there an Atlanta group? And if are there any outings planned?

Thanks

There is no group- in the form of "we meet the 2nd thursday of every month."

Mostly when someone plans an outing for themselves and would like company- they post a plan here.

People who want to join in do, its that simple

Hi James. The Berry College is in a beautiful setting and you should get some great photos there. A trip up when the leaves are changing would be another great time to go. I would love to join in but I will be participating in a bike ride starting out at the Budwiser Brewery in Cartersville which is pretty close but I won't be back from the ride until 1:00 or 1:30. Maybe next time.

Have a great time.

Hi James. I have gone up to Berry a couple of times to shoot a plan to go up again when the leaves are changing. I generally try and get there before sunrise so I can get the early morning sun. When I go this next time, I may switch to IR once the sun gets really strong around mid day.

Do you have any specific spots you want to shoot? I know the water wheel thing is a common spot, but I still like to go there.

I can second that. Just got back from camping in Cherokee, NC and it wasn't to bad. But now I am back home and need to cut the grass. Can't wait for the cooler weather.

Georgia Aquarium - 2007 Annual Passes

I received an email from the Georgia Aquarium today with information about renewing my annual passes during the month of September. If you missed out last year, they will be available to the public on October 1. They will limit the number of passes again this year. So, if you wait too late, you may not be able to buy an annual pass.

Adult - $62.50
Child(3-12) - $45.50
Senior(55+) - $51.50
For new members starting in Oct, add $10 to activate pass for the remainder of 2006.

Superbike races at Road Atlanta this weekend but i'm not going to go. Robert I may try to make the Dixie Fried Show on Saturday afternoon. It may be 2:00 or 3:00 before I get there.

Robin thanks for the heads up on renewing the aquarium passes. We need to make another trip there soon.

Thunder Beach Fall Motorcycle Rally in Panama City is Sep. 21-24 if anyone is interested. Lots to photograph there if you have an interest in bikes.

The MS Society annual fundraising bike ride is Sept 10-11 at Calloway Gardens (Bicyclist not Motorcycles) An estimated 1000 cyyclist expected in this event. Our Atlanta FM member Tracey "tlong"is raising monies and participating in this event for a great cause. Good luck Tracey.

Drove out with some friends to visit the Car show at the old Starlight Drive In today and it cost $30.00 per person. We got there at 2:30 and had planned to stay until around 6:00 which would have amounted to about $10.00 per hour per person or $90.00 for the three of us. We just returned home. This show is nothing compared to the World of Wheels yet cost much more. Hope you all have a great Labor Day Holiday.

Sorry to hear that Grant. Yea the price is pretty high they claim itts all because of the bands. I guess it cost a lot to bring Blue Oyster Cult. Gotta have more cow bell.

I wouldn't pay that much either. I'll post some pics from the show later this week.

Cheers

Last night we were all set to cook some burgers on the grill. Patties were made, fries were in the oven and I was about to light the grill. With the gas running and my finger on the starter switch, I noticed some pine needles under the flame guard.

My first thought was, hey that will be cool, lets watch it burn. Then I noticed it was not just a couple of pine needles, but a whole bunch of them. I turned off the gas and decided to investigate a little further.

As I removed the grill grids, I noticed something furry moving around under the flame guard. It was a chipmunk. Dang, now I have to evict this thing and clean out the grill before I can grill the burgers. However, once the flame guard was removed, I discovered why the chipmunk did not run away when the grill was initially opened.

In total there are 6 babies that have to be less than a week old (I grilled last weekend). Any idea how old these things have to be before they will leave my grill?

O, and there is another twist to this story. Take a look at this photo and you will noticed something black that looks to be a animal's leg. Well that is one of the stuffed animal toys of our Lab, Maggie. She has been "hunting" around another part of the deck for what we thought was a chipmunk. I guess we now know it was a chipmunk and it has no respect for Maggie.

Amazing the things that make their way into our grills. Lucky you checked out the pine needles more closely. Not sure roasted chipmunk would have a very pleasant smell. I have had something similar happen for the past two years. Once with a huge wasp nest after going for quite a while without using my grill and once with a wrens nest. Hope the little guys make it okay.
