7. How about this one with the Tokina 12-24 at 18mm on the 20D. Didn't plan on using this lens for photographing the animals but at this distance - why not?
Hey all, sorry I have posted in a while. Been busy with work and some projects at home. Grant and Gary, thanks so much for posting your Africa photos. They brought back a lot of great memories I had from my trip to Tanzania last year. I'm glad you all had such a great trip!
It was amazing just how close the animals would get to the Rovers. I was most surprised by the number of birds, I had no idea there would be so many different species.
Working with Zoo Atlanta was of great help, the knowledge gained there of the animals made the trip much better.
We had a very diverse group, from pro level to those with disposable camera's. Out of 23 travelers, I'd say that there where 6-8 folks that were very serious photographers. Everyone was more than happy to spend time when a great moment presented itself. I truly believe that just being in the present of such special events that we encountered was well worth the time spent.
I'm would really love to have some of the video that some of our group captured.
Gary,
That's a fantastic Martial Eagle shot. Our Rover didn't get to see this one. Still going over images and will try to post a few more later. I think I ended up with about 5500 images but many are just sequences that look almost identical. Just got a text message from Crystal that her 2gb card is filled but now shows an error message and she can't access any of the images. She shot a lot of Video footage and may share some of it with us. I have a little footage too.
I got several good captures of the Martial, that was my favorite. I hope Crystal is able to retrieve the images from the 2gb card, tell her I have some software that my help(Photo Rescue). Well I have well over 8K of images, but like you a lot of sequences. I'm about half way done........I'm currently taking a bit of a break from them.
