Sounds good to me... I was considering a trip down to Ft Lauderdale for the big airshow over the water May 5th and 6th. Its been years since I was last down there for that one.
If I were you guys I would meet up somewhere and carpool. Traffic around that place when they have the airshow is 10 time worse than afternoon traffic in Atlanta.
Last year or the year before was beyond all reason- We sat about 1.5 miles from the main gate and didn't move for almost an hour.... Get there _early_ and carpool / tailgate. :-D
We bailed on the parking and set up in front of Pep Boys at the end of the runway- wasn't too bad.

Sounds great! My attention span isn't that long, so, someone will have to remind me in another month or so.
I know that feeling! I will try to post a reminder when the time gets closer.
I also think that meeting somewhere and carpooling would be a good idea. I went to the 2004 show on Sunday and traffic wasn't too bad but I went in the "back way". Cobb Pkwy and Delk Rd/S. Cobb Dr are usually a nightmare.
...I just thought I would share this cool place with you guys. It's Bostwick GA. I took these a couple of days ago. It's an awesome place it's kinda like a ghost town. Great buildings and plantations.
Thought I'd post a couple shots I took this weekend. As you all know, I've really gotten interested in bird photography. I've been trying to figure out how to set up perches in my backyard and attract birds to them. I'm shooting with my 400 f/5.6L which is the longest glass I currently have. I took Friday off and was out in the backyard taking advantage of the beautiful weather and finally lucked out. I really like this cardinal photo. I've got a couple other on the website that also came out well. I'm pretty pleased. These are my best effort so far.
Then on Sunday, I changed gears and played with the orchids in our kitchen. It was really nice to shoot a nonmoving target for a change. I shot this indoors and played around with a couple of adjustable lamps I have, along my flash unit and I was pretty pleased with the results. I now understand the value of studio lighting. I'd like to learn more about it, and maybe purchase the right equipment.
Greg, we will get them to fly a harrier for you. They can hover in mid-air allowing plenty of time for composition and focusing. I will see if one of my navy buddies can lend us radio. That way we can tell the pilot when you are done.
If the schedule allows I think the airshow would be fun. I was really dissapointed in the one up here last year. No more non-military base shows for me.
Todd, Those are two beautiful shots. I love the background color in the Cardinal and the white blooms really add to the shot. Looks like a painting. Love the flower one too.
The Air show sounds great but I can only imagine the traffic in that area during the event. Anyone know what activity might be going on at E L Huie in the meantime? This spring like weather has been great and I had a huge flock of Robins come in for lunch at my Holly bushes today. Grabbed the camera and got a few shots of the action.
