Had a great time at the zoo on Thursday. Weather could not have been better. We spent a lot of time with the baby gorillas. Used only the 400mm. I like that lens!
Looks as if you guys got some great shots!! Just wished I could have been there with you. Being it's a cold wet weekend, I'm starting to "Jones" for a day out shooting, just wanted you both to know how much I need to get out.
Cabin Fever is getting the best of me and it's time for an informal trip. Though the weather for the most part of the week looks grim, Sunday looks to be the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow(sunny/51 degrees).
Nothing really special I'm proposing, just a day at the zoo. I have yet to get images of the baby Gorilla's or the Lion cubs. So for anyone up for a lap or two around the zoo on Sunday morning, I'll be arriving when the gates open at 9:30am. Who can resist those wonderful lunches also, just an added teaser.
Hi guys...I wrote "EL Huie-Feb 25" down in my notebook of things to do. Anyone know what might be going on there?
Gary and Robert...the zoo sounds like fun...I'll check with the family unit to see if I can get permission I'm dying to see the baby gorillas!
Robert, at first I was going to ask what joke you told the gorilla to make it laugh. But then I saw the lion and realized that they were both yawning. I guess you need to be more exciting when you are taking their pics! :-)
Anyway, Looks like you and John both got some great shots. I wish I could be there this Sunday but I can't.
But, (to all the gang) it looks like I am going to be in town the weekend of 3/11 and will have all day on the 12th to go do something fun. So, if anyone wants to lets try to get something planned. Obviously we need to get a little closer to see what the weather is going to be.

An excellent spot for swallows during migration, sometimes six species at once. For more information, check Newman Wetlands Center

Wish I could join you guys this weekend but already have other plans. I did stop by the Zoo about 4:00 this afternoon while in the area and got a few shots.
Hope you all have a great time and get lots of great shots.
Any wedding photographers in GA on here? I know there is a wedding board but, thought I would check in here first.
Also, I am kinda new to the board, been a lurker for a while. I really wish I could go on Sunday the weather is suppose to be awesome! Have fun guys! Hopefully I will be able to go to one of you get togethers. I am actually in Athens if any body wants to come up here one day it could be a lot of fun!
Sure wish I could join you folks on Sunday's zoo shoot, but family plans call for us to trek up the road to Athens....(Shannon....you've got mail). Several of you have already posted some great images, and I'll be looking forward to seeing even more after Sunday.
Grant: Your outstanding images remind me of what someone once told me: "Lighting is everything". Great captures!
Hi guys. I've been out of town for a few days, so I missed what has been going on around here. We are still planning on the zoo tomorrow...Greg and Grant, I hate that we won't see you guys.
Grant-I really like your picture of the flamingo! Nice work!
