boy do I have a picture I need to e-mail you. Still trying to decide how much it is worth to you to NOT post it on the web...
We have our company holiday party the evening of the 3rd. So we could come down Friday evening and shoot both Saturday and Sunday mornings. Of course, I may be a bit bleary eyed Sunday morning.

Grant, sounds like you need to get the feather duster out and clean up one of those cars. Then, hook it up behind the camper and head back to the mountains. We could go shoot some waterfalls on Friday and attend (and shoot) a rod run on Saturday!
Sounds like a plan to me...
Anyway, I wish I could come down this weekend but I can't. However, I will be a shopping widow the weekend after turkey day and will also be in Atlanta the weekend of 12/3 if someone wanted to shoot either Saturday or Sunday morning.
You are right. I need to get to work on them. I still have the 1956 Chevrolets that I used to show in Pigeon Forge every year back in the mid to late 1980's. Each one was done a little differently so they were not in competition together and each one did quite well. They have all been in the World of Wheels at one time or another as well as numerous other shows in Georgia, South Carolina and Tennessee. I have many pictures of them but they are all on slides somewhere. I will try to find some and scan them to post here.
I guess it's like most anything else, you get tired of cleaning and polishing or lose interest over the years. Maybe this Saturday car show will re-spark my interest.
Looks like we might have Aaron, Gaby, John, Kent, Lowbyte and maybe Tracey plus myself show up for this event. I hope they have a good variety of things to photograph. My son may join us also. I guess we can just look for those with Canon's around their necks except for "Tracey" at the entrance around the 1:00 - 1:15 time span.
Greg, "smilindoc" this is close to home, join in if you can.
Grant....Thanks for the tempting invitation. Unfortunately, personal commitments will prevent me from joining you tomorrow. I'll look forward to seeing some great images that all of you bring back.
Since I will be out of town and not sure if I'll have internet access, I wanted to wish everyone a 'Happy Thanksgiving'. It's been a great year for myself, having had the pleasure of meeting and shooting with some very fine photographers. The friendship among the group is a welcome and something I find refreshing for people who have met via the web. I trust each and everyone will have a safe and wonderful Holiday!!
Thanks for the shared thoughts, Gary...Safe travels to you!
Thanksgiving is a great time for reflecting on the blessings of the past year...And, very high on my list are the friendships established via this forum.
I am in the Atlanta area and would love to go out for some shooting. There was a nightime shooting class setup by Showcase, but I missed the deadline. I would love to take advantage to the cool, crisp, clear night for some night shooting (Skyline). I will check back her often
Great shots guys. It was a pleasure meeting Aaron, Gaby and Kent as well as a couple of other non FM member photographers at this event. There were some great looking cars and looks like everyone got some really good shots. Aaron I think your self portrait is my favorite and that 135L and the 1Ds MkII really shine on this photo. Gaby I hope you made it to your wedding shoot okay. I saw you shooting the Route 66 shot and wondered how this might look. "Great". The colors on that Victory motorcycle really jump out at you.
I think my first picture must be the car that won a trophy for best original "Rust" and most colorful interior.
Thanks it was great to meet you and everybody else. Thank you for the C&C on my pictures.
The wedding went great, it was a gypsy wedding, so I had no idea of their traditions, but got everything great as it was happening, it was kind of surrealistic as I didn't know what was going to happen next, there were 2 dinners, the bride changed clothes twice, people giving money inside loaves of bread, etc. It wasn't just great to shoot the event, but as a personal experience it was fantastic to witness it.
