I got the D700 four months ago. That was the reason for the surgery on the 10.5 fisheye, so I could use it on FF. The 10.5 is a DX lens.
For me, the D700 is close to the perfect camera. I got the grip, which I'll mostly only use for shooting sports (for the 8fps).
I have the holy trinity of zooms (14-24; 24-70; 70-200) and I've added two primes - the Sigma 50mm f1.4 HSM and the Nikkor 85mm f1.4. Got the Sigma because I think the bokeh is better than the new Nikkor 50. In the long department, I only have the 300 f4 and it will stay that way.
Los Bravos: D700, 24-70@28; f2.8; ISO-3200; No flash. Tweaked in NX2. Sorry for the cropped frame, but I had to straighten the pic and that lost the corner.
Craig, that white balance looks pretty good in that last shot. Between Nancy & I we are up to 5 or 6 Sigma lenses. All of them have been very sharp. I really like the colors out of them and you can't beat the price.
Jon, not interested in selling it just yet. I really hope that things will start settling down here at work soon and with the coming of spring I hope to get back out and shoot more.
Have you guys seen the new pocket wizard stuff that does ttl via RF? It looks very cool...
I brought 2 cameras with me , XSi and 50D and a 70-200 and 24-70, no questions asked on any of them....
i brought a monopod with me one time, but last time around didn't bother. I dont know if a tripod would be worth while... most of the time you have to get up high and over a rail if you want to shoot the lions (not through plexiglass) that is.
Other than that, the official rules are : so no limit on what you bring... and to be honest they dont care.
