OMG JBear!!! . I love that photo, what's happening in it?
Time for Stacy to attend an air show?
JB, are you getting close to posting some shots? I have barely had time to check this thread, no time to catch others like the air to air...
Oh, JB, when is the blues thing? We close this week so the next few weekends will probably involve moving boxes and furniture but I may be able to break free at least 1 day to get down to Chattaboogie.
Hey Mark -yea Stacey needs to come out to play in a field of fire!
Robben Ford plays at the Miller Plaza on Aug 22nd at 7:00 PM. its free and we intend on bringing at least a 70-200 along. I think its open seating so we want to get close. I need to find out from you where a reasonable place to stay would be. Deb is pretty easy on requirements -her needs are few - bug free, safe and clean... mine are just "cheap".
Any ideas?
We got there Wednesday afternoon in time to see the Harrier hover and land - so the pics from that day, all day Thursday and about 5 pics from Friday are up. I'm about half way through editing the images and since I have so many similar shots - and I tend to put everything up and it ends up being way too crowded - I'm trying to self edit and only put up a representative bunch of shots into the gallery. Even though I took over 13,000 pics - I know I'll probably post less than 150.
JB, there is a Courtyard by Marriot and a couple of other biz suite type hotels in a good spot downtown near the lookouts baseball stadium. I will try to get the other names but since I never stayed in them I tended to not pay much attention. Also, if you want a bit fancier the Chattanoogan is really nice. If you can get something downtown it is probably worth a few extra $$ as there is a series of free electric shuttles that run down town until around midnight I think. So, you can park your car at the hotel and usually only have to walk a block or so to get to the shuttle route that goes all over downtown.
when i was needing to be at the convention center near the airport for a few days, i pricelined the Hyatt Place hotel in college park which was 75 a night and really nice.... duno which baseball field they were talking about, atl or not.
Zoo Atlanta is FREE this weekend.....but only for Fulton County Residents.
I am from Woodstock and aways check out the boards. Being a teacher, I do not have too much time for field trips with groups until Summer. Nice to see so many ATL area photogs.

hmmm... How bout the photographer rocked and the camera performed as advertised?
That is more like it! Tha camera can only do what the photog sets it to do. Great job Jon!!! - Just imagine if you had a 300 for those baseball shots! Nothin wrong with what you used - but a long prime is in your future... I'm sure of it!
Pretty new 50 showed up today. Had to go straight from work to do a final inspection on the house prior to closing in the morning. Just got it out to look at it. It feels nice. Maybe sometime this weekend I will actually have time to pick up a camera for a minute or 2...
Just got a press release email from Robben Ford with the following info about a benefit concert he is doing in his hometown. The info might help to identify his credentials -
"The benefit concert provides a very rare opportunity to catch Robben Ford performing in his hometown between international tours. Ford will be joined on stage by Toss Panos on drums and Travis Carlton on bass, and the opening act will be guitarist and singer Jonathan McEuen. Although Ford is best known for his eight solo recordings, which have garnered him five Grammy nominations, he has also played with such luminaries as Miles Davis, Joni Mitchell, Michael McDonald, Phil Lesh, David Sandborn, George Harrison, Charlie Musslewhite, and Bonnie Raitt. Ford was named one of the top 100 Guitarists in the world by Musician Magazine."
Also did everyone get the email from KEH about their clearance sidewalk sale this weekend? If not - i'll forward it to you. Looks like they are moving and want to cut down on what they have to move and have "cut their prices significantly" to do so.
I received the KEH e-mail; however it lists Sept 13 from 9-3 as the date and time. Do not know their new location, but I wish they would move back to 14th St. It would be much more convenient for me.
You're right it is the 13th of September - my mistake... I often don't know what day it is - more often don't know what week... but i'm usually pretty good at what month and year.
