Any ideas for fireworks shooting for this weekend?
I will be up in the North GA Mountains and may get a couple from the boat. Usually We go to Lanier and watch the fireworks there over the water but this year we are gonna try the mountains out on lake Chatuge.
I'm thinking of shooting the fireworks put on by Dunwoody Country Club. Not the biggest in the world, but usually entertaining. If you'd like to come along, let me know and we can figure out where to meet, etc.
How are the Mall of Georgia fireworks? I'm thinking of heading up there as well. Also, which directions are the fireworks going off (in other words where should i set up if i go). I think Duluth or Gwinnett is also having fireworks on Sunday night. i may go to those as well.
Hello, name is Ryan Duggar. New to the forums here. I live in the Atlanta area and just wanted to introduce myself. Hope to meet some others around town on an outing.
I've been to the Mall of Georgia fireworks last year and were quite good.
Today I've been to the ones in Norcross, it was a good practice, and definetly I need a better tripod.
hi Brian!!!
Everything ready for Alaska?
I had to cancel the trip to Mall fo Georgia, some friends invited me to a BBQ and then the storm started, but I took a few nice pictures of fireworks the day before in Norcross, nice practice.
How goes it. Alaska was wonderful! I have some of the landscapes posted on my site. I am still working on the Wildlife shots. I shot arround 7000 photos and alot of them turned out well, so it is alot to sort through. How did your Firworks shots turn out? I got a few good ones from Florida, but again i have yet to post process them. Great to hear from you! We need to get togather and do something again!!!!
Welcome to FM. Your black and White photos are awesome. As for a shoot in the next few weeks I have no clue but I am sure that we could come up with something... Let me know if you have any suggestions.
Hi Brian:
I'm planning on a 70-200 2.8 IS next month, even though I don't like zoos in general, I think that atlanta's zoo will be the place to test it.
I love your work about Alaska, the pictures are wonderful.
Somehow I posted this to the main forum by mistake...so I'm reposting here.
Hey folks, I just found about about a workshop on Nature/Bird Photography that will be in Atlanta the weekend of July 30-31. Thought I'd pass on the info for anyone that might be interested. I will probably go myself and would be great to meet other folks from this forum if possible.
Here's the info:
The Art of Bird Photography; It Ain't Just Birds! Weekend Seminar
Atlanta, Georgia, July 30-31, 2005 Presented by Photo Road Show
Dallas, Texas, September 24-25, 2005
This seminar is for all nature photographers who want to learn how to
make
better images. Artie will describe the methods and techniques that he
has
developed and used since 1983. His comments on equipment (including
and
especially digital equipment), autofocus, light, composition and image
design, and sharpness and his tips on getting close to wild subjects
and
photographing action and behavior will benefit everyone with a
telephoto
lens who wishes to dramatically improve the quality of their images.
Since
going all-digital in November 2002, Artie has--in short order--become a
digital photography and Photoshop expert. His approach to optimizing
images
is to create a master file of excellent quality in the shortest
possible
time. He will share his workflow and numerous Digital and Photoshop
tips
during the Sunday sessions.
