Maybe Thursday in hand I stuck with my pre-order as a credit would take a few days anyway. Besides I can’t do much anyway. I’m home with shingles from all this stress. It seems it might have caused it and in a lot of pain. Had I had money on hand I’d have one today from a local member.
Sorry about that. It is quite painful. The shingles show up at nerve ends, making them particularly painful.
Relax! This is essentially due to stress, which lowers your immune system and let’s an opportunist virus take advantage.

Mine arrived tonight at 6:30. I went for a run while the battery charged and then dived into the menu and started shooting with my Sigma MC-11 and Canon lenses. Coming from a Canon 6D, eye AF is a revelation! THIS is the camera I have been waiting years for. It nailed focus with my Sigma 50 Art at f/1.4 every single time. I am excited to try it out this weekend using some Zeiss C/Y lenses on landscapes (28/2.8, 35-135/3.3-4.5, and 35-70/3.4). I love these lenses on my 6D and I have a feeling the A7Riii will make them even better. Anyway, glad the wait is over and I'm happy to be a Sony owner now. It's a great time to be a photographer.

Eye AF is definitely a game changer. Manual focus is a lot easier on a mirrorless body than an DSLR. If you ever get tired of manual focusing those Zeiss C/Y lenses, you can always get a TechArt Pro adapter with a C/Y mount to M mount adapter to use autofocus with them.

Hmmm! I can see that one camera store in Copenhagen still have it in stock. I thought it would sell out in no time here. Stupid Danes*, they don't know what they are missing out on!

My 24-105 shipped yesterday from BH via UPS. According to UPS they haven't picked it up yet. I have a shoot Friday evening, but am not optimistic about having it.

I tried contacting them, they said they couldn't do much since it had already been picked up, but advised UPS told them deliveries were running 1-5 days behind. Just odd something I bought from them Friday on a separate order was delivered today at the same address via UPS.
I order a lot from B&H - I haven't looked at my totals for 2017 yet...but it hasn't been unusual at all for a single order from B&H for multiple items to arrive in multiple shipments on different days from different carriers. I think this is the way drop shipping works and, likely B&H has more than one warehouse.

finally picked mine up...
UPS really screwed me...
1. From MD, mis-routed somewhere in NJ....
2. UPS couldn't find it
3. told me it'll call me back when ready for pickup in 1 hour.
4. told me it was going to be available for pickup in trenton NJ, then Edison, then Website stated Monroe.
5. 24 hours later they were sure it was in Edison..
6. I go to Edison today... and they say its in Monroe.
7. 3 days to track this down.
Battery is charging now... i see the ergonomics much improved... feels good.

I need to get my vaccination for it. I have taken care of plenty of people with Shingles. Had a few end up in the ICU I worked it was so bad. Yep, stay away from the kids but others can be at risk as well.

Well....my tiny $13 Batmax dual charger didn't work out exactly as expected. Seems the LED status lights on my unit never stop blinking even after the batteries are fully charged. Seems to charge the batteries ok, but in my case leaves some guess work as to when the battery is full charged or not :-(
Retraction. Not sure if I experienced a temporary glitch as described above or user error, but after a few more patient/vigilant tests seems the Batmax dual charger is performing as it should and as described in their literature. Now I see the 4 LEDs are lighted up and stop blinking when the the battery is fully charged. Note: With this device when the batteries are fully charged the 4 LEDs remains lighted until you unplug the device from the power source.
