I ordered the first day the R3 was released for sale. It showed as shipped Nov. 30 but it was in a holding pattern for 5 days until I contacted B&H customer service by email.
They were super nice and helpful and got the updates moving along. It will now be delivered on Friday, the 8th. I'm cool with that.

I tried contacting them, they said they couldn't do much since it had already been picked up, but advised UPS told them deliveries were running 1-5 days behind. Just odd something I bought from them Friday on a separate order was delivered today at the same address via UPS.

It works for me. I use a ravpower smart plus multi usb charger. I don’t if that’s a factor. It takes a while but does show when it’s done.

I called B&H and they said that they will be shipping them once the shipment is received on the 7th.

My order of A7Riii, which was shipped from B&H on 29th but there was no update since yesterday afternoon. I spoke to them couple of times and they assure me that UPS has it and I should wait. Finally, it arrived this evening. I spoke to the UPS guy and he said they are slammed with packages since Black Friday and continue to work through the weekends. He even mentioned that if he is lucky, he may go home by midnight.
In short, B&H was correct about the UPS situation and finally camera arrived today so may be being patient is a good call but it I know its hard to do....!

I bit the bullet to enter the world of Sony. I just ordered the 12-24 f/4G and the 85 f/1.8 I got a price equivalent to about $483USD, too good to pass up. Won't get the lenses until Boxing day it seems. I haven't ordered the A7RIII yet since I wouldn't get it until January at earliest at this stage, but that's ok I'm in no rush, I'll keep an eye out, but hoepfully ebay will have another 10% off everything from anyone sale or a 20% of TECH (Australia only I suspect). I'll need to get a Metabones V EF adapter and a few other things.

I am in a similar situation, I was told on the phone that my order had been sent to the warehouse on November 29th. It finally shipped yesterday and is scheduled to be delivered tomorrow afternoon. I am not optimistic that it will arrive tomorrow, I suspect it won't be until Thursday or Friday.

Maybe Thursday in hand I stuck with my pre-order as a credit would take a few days anyway. Besides I can’t do much anyway. I’m home with shingles from all this stress. It seems it might have caused it and in a lot of pain. Had I had money on hand I’d have one today from a local member.

This is going to be fun! You ordered two great lenses. The 12-24/4 G became my favorite landscape zoom lens. If you have some time and a little patience, you can use 77mm filters with it for most of the range. (link)
The FE 85/1.8 is a bargain for its IQ. It render very similarly to the more expensive Batis 85/1.8 and the only downside is a bit more LoCA.

Ugh! Shingles is no fun, Guy. It really hurts. I hope it is away from your face and eyes.
There is a vaccine that you can get when you recover from the rash. The reports are that it doesn't fully prevent shingles, but makes a recurrence less likely and less severe if it does recur.
As of October of this year, there is a new and preferred Shingles vaccine--Shingrix. Here is a link to the CDC recommendations, especially for people over 50:

A7RIII arrived finally after seeing the UPS truck go around my neighborhood a couple of times before eventually getting to my place while we ate dinner.
Opened it up, put the battery in and it's only at 2% charge! Just enough to turn it on, set the language and time and then turn it off. Gotta wait for that Sony charger to do its thing.
One nice thing about the new big battery is that you can't accidentally install it incorrectly oriented like you can on the A7R/II - this annoyed me to no end.

Yes, I'm very impressed with my 85/1.8 Sony. Not 85/4 ZM or 85 Lox impressed, but impressed by the overall performance. It's a very good travel lens if you can take the bulk (it is light enough though).

Hi Fred, been reading all your testing of the 12-24, blew me away how good it performs at the edges and corners. Just need to be careful with flare. Also at nearly half the price of the Canon 11-24 and about 50% lighter, it was always going to be on of my native FE lenses. Seen a few excellent reviews of the 85 f/1.8 comparing it to the Batis. LoCA isn't huge concern, at this price, I'd be paying 5x as much for the Sony GM or the Canon 85L IS.

105 nicely sharp in center
24 ok in the corners.
Since I use anything in this focal length range at most 1-2 times a year it will certainly
do for what if.
Personally I like the design of this series of Sony lenses including the 70-300G.
I was surprised to feel the 24-105 weighing more (objective) than the 12-24g.
