Another JPEG with slight edits - this camera really produces great JPEG files with perfect sharpening. I hope Sony applies the same processing to the A7RIII. For most of the shoot I got better colours from the RAW files, but these were not far off and very usable.
Put a camera in my son's hands and that was pretty much me as a kid, lol.
Beautiful image. I can see why you love it. The a9 does have the special sauce that even the a7Rii (and I bet Riii) don't quite have. There is one thing to be able to afford extreme detail, another to enjoy extreme color depth. I saw the same with my A7S but this portrait also has the Zeiss mojo adding to the overall outcome eh.

That's funny - I am still unable to sell my A7S (first gen). I love using that camera and love the images I get from it, much like the A9. To me the A9 feels like the perfected version of the A7S (for stills). I wish it were as light and compact, but I guess you can't have it all

Here are a few images with the A9 and Nikkor 105mm f1.4 and Commlite Pro Adapter... Having Eye-AF is a Godsend with this lens!
Gorgeous images, Ken! So, the Commilite Pro Adapter enables you to get Eye-AF using that Nikkor lens then, I assume? I didn't know that. Hmmm, you got me thinking . How is the speed relative to that of Canon lens on Metabones? Thanks!

Thank you! The 105mm is a pretty slow focusing lens as it is but is decent. I'd compare the AF speed to the Canon 85L.
Yup, with the latest A9 firmware update Eye-AF was enabled with the Commlite.
I dare to say that the Nikkor 105mm is the best portrait lens I've ever used. I like it better than my 85mm GM, Sigma Art 135mm and Canon 200mm f2L...
