The A9 dropped a few days ago, I'm interested to see some the images that you guys have taken with it. Images that may have held you back from previous Alpha models. Let's see them!
I'll get this started off. I just received mine this afternoon, and I couldn't wait till the battery fully charged. So, I had 15% battery life and decided to take some snapshots with it, and what better subject than my very affectionate cat? She loves attention and I had a difficult time getting shots of her walking towards me with my a7RII. The a9 on the other hand, no problem! By the way, I took 158 shots in just under 20 mins, and still had 10% battery life. Already a huge improvement over previous models!
Shot 1 hour ago. I wound up with about 225 images battery on with LCD since 5:30 am till about 8:30 and left with 59 percent battery and it was not warm to the touch. If i was not shooting the LCD was on. Not scientific but I thought pretty good battery life. It may get better as this battery will get better after a few charges. More coming. Files look good folks
Anyway just went out for kicks just to see how exposures, color and files are and if anything maybe 1/3 under tops. Nothing blew out and not seeing anything bad yet. First shot I pulled the shadows up quite a bit
Using a lot of AFS and spot both S and Large. I do have my metering set to the AF point and it seems pretty good but if you hit the shadows than its going to get a lot brighter so stay on highlights to protect yourself
A have more but we have the family over but it really looks a lot like the A7rII to me at least. These are processed in C1 as I use that for everything. The only obvious thing so far is underexposure and ZI will look into that more and try some other thing about 1/3 to 1/2 is what Im seeing so far. Ill post more later.

During Jason Lanier's video comparison between the a9 and the a7RII for landscapes, they looked relatively close in terms of quality, even with a super crop. The a9 may have looked like it retained a bit more detail too.

Nice part I don't have to deal with EFSC switch.
That's a great hidden feature that perhaps won't be discussed much. We know how important it is to turn EFCS off when combining fast lenses and high shutter speeds.

I don't actually know how ::embarrassing:: but I've posted above it was the 85GM (wide open.)
You can upload your image using the site's image upload feature and check on the "Show EXIF" box.
That rendering wide open is the reason I can't part with my 85GM. I ended up with both GM and Batis.
