Nice front yard shots!
Just think, a ZOOM so sharp it can take a 2.0TC.
Sony again raising the bar.
I'm just wondering how sharp their 400 will be.
Probably too sharp for my wallet
I'm blown away..it's as sharp as any Canon prime I shot...The Steady Shot feels so sure.
Yep, when they start busting out the 300 and 400 2.8's, they will be insane, quality and price I'm sure.
But wow. for now, I'm good..Gonna go find some birds

Excellent images everyone! Those jpegs really surprised me. No need for RAW with those results IMO.
Just to clarify that my posted images are not OOC - they are edited jpegs, but now I don't even bother shooting raw for high-volume stuff. Most of my jpeg editing is stylistic (vignetting, some localized clarity) with some tweaking of white and black levels to add some pop. I really like the default sharpening and noise reduction used on the jpegs as well - something I could not say for the other A7 cameras I've used.

My first camera. I used to borrow this from my Dad in the late-70s. And if you're old and you've heard that zoom lenses aren't as good as prime lenses, the reason for that is right next to the camera -- the 43-86 zoom. :-)
I used Capture One for this conversion.
I carried two of those, one with a 24mm, the other with an 85mm lens on two camera neck strap when I was a newspaper photographer in the late 60s/early 70s. We used Leica Ms in areas where camera noise was an issue. I still have one sitting on a shelf.
I don't know if you guys(gals) want these images here since I already posted in the FF e-mount thread? Say the word and I'll delete. I was just thinking someone considering this body might not look over there?

Really amazing to me that I would even attempt a Milky Way with a zoom lens, let alone at F4 and a 12mm. I know my Milky Way shots pale but personally I was very happy with this one considering the above.

Brings back memories. I had F2's with motors and the famous 43-86. Shot tons with those primes and zooms. When the 35-70 2.8 came out it was a game changer!
