Had the same problem and found out that they are having technical difficulties with their online payment system.

The only method to pay is to buy a playstation gift card (from amazon for example), redeem and credit your account.

That seems most likely, given that I've tried multiple connection and payment methods...

p.7 #2 · Techart PRO LM-EA7 FAQ

Well, this seems odd. While my TAP seems to be focusing well, I have lost some of the aperture settings that are used to control the adapter.

I did not really check to make sure that they were all there when I first received it a couple of weeks ago. It arrived with version 3, and I updated to 4 without incident.

From the chart that came with the adapter (and here, in the FAQ) I am missing

F14
F18
F20
F25
F29
F36 (park at infinity)
F40 (park at closest focus)

F2, F45 and F90 are still there.

I have removed the battery several times, removed and remounted the adapter, and reinstalled version 4.

Any idea what has happened here? Has this happened to anyone else?

I was using my TAP during a four-day hiking trip near Melbourne, when it started to malfunction - one of the screws holding the front cover plate had come out, allowing the cover to flex forward from the main body of the TAP. Holding it in by hand restored its functionality, but then the other screw came out and the whole cover detached, exposing the internals .

Fortunately I had a Metabones VM-E adapter with me as a backup, so I taped the cover back on the TAP and sealed it in a plastic bag. Has anyone else had this happen? Looks like it will need a trip back to China, which is a great pity, as it had been working beautifully...

Do you have your camera set to change aperture in 1/2 stop increments?

Aha!!!! That was it. Thank you very much. I was hoping it was operator error (!).

How can I set the Leica M 50 mm 1.4 in TAP ?
Just leave it at f 2.0?
If I want to record the f1.4 in exif, can I achieve it by +1 compensation ?

The camera will not set to a wider aperture than f2.0 with the TAP attached - at least on my A7R2. Of course you can still use the lens at f1.4, it just won't be recorded as such in the EXIF. If you leave the camera at f2.0 and 0 comp the exposure will be correct at any aperture set on the lens but the EXIF won't be except if the lens is set to f2.0. If you want the EXIF to correctly indicate the lens f stop at smaller apertures than f2.0, see the FAQ.

Hey, has anyone had success with a Canon FD to Leica M adapter that is NOT the Leicaist variety? I see cheaper one from K&F and local adapters from Fotodiox and wonder if they work with TAP . . .

I had one of these Fotodiox FD->LM adapters, and it wouldn't clear the techart mount. Returned it.

That's what I thought. But I wonder about the K&F adapter as well. I have used them before (not with TAP) and they're a great bargain!

A follow up - yesterday I contacted support@TechArtPro, outlining what had happened, and in contrast to other stories about their slow response, I had a reply within four hours, advising me of a return address and promising a replacement - impressed!

It seems that some K&F adapters work with the TAP but others don't. At this point I honestly think that your best bet is to check the FAQ -- as soon as someone reports success with a particular adapter in this thread, I add it to the FAQ.

Good to hear that you received a prompt response. As far as I'm aware, there have been relatively few mechanical or electronic failures reported with the TAP by FM members (yours and Luvwine's come to mind). But now, whenever I"m using the TAP, I take along a Voigtlander VM-E close focus adapter as a backup just in case.

LTM/L39/M39x1 Adaptor tested.

Just tested a 50-75mm focal length version with a f1.8 50mm Canon Ltm.

The only issue is the lens aligns a little to the left but that seems to be the threads out of alignment and no way to fix. The LM bit centres nicely with a click, then the ltm bit goes past top centre 10-15 degrees. my Nex LTM adapter centres this lens on the A7II.

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/291860054531 "M39-L(M) (50-75)"

So as infinity is the only TAP focus position mandated you only have the slight offset for the aperture ring.

I think the above Over centre behaviour is Leica like:
https://www.fredmiranda.com/forum/topic/1457566

As that explains the various options and discoveries.

I don't know about the K&F, but it's unlikely on the FD. Most are designed with a larger Lock/Open control that won't clear. Leicaist's seems to be designed with TAP in mind. I ordered mine on eBay, about $30 cheaper than Techart. Well made adapter and works like a charm.

Yeah, I also ordered the Leicaist FD to M adapter from ebay. The K&F is half the cost but who knows if it clears . . .

Bob,
Which FD lens are you planning to use on TAP?

Fred,

I have the newly acquired FD200/2.8 SSC and the FD 24/2.8 but I hardly use the latter.
