Fred,
Curious if you tried Eye-AF with TAP and whether it works? Was doing some quick google searches earlier and saw some mentioned it work on a7r3/a9, although probably not as good/quickly as native lens. Still would be cool if that worked though.

Welcome back to Techart Pro Fred! I'm happy with this adapter on A7rIV too. Maybe that's why we haven't seen an adapter firmware update in a while--because it stills works even up to the latest A7rIV ! Even Eye-AF with good light.

How well does the latest firmware work on the A7R3?
It does work with Eye-AF and accuracy is OK but not great. I have great accuracy when focusing at center and recomposing.
Yes, it works great with the Sony A7R IV but firmware 6 was originally developed for the A7R III, so it works great for both cameras.
Good to hear! Thanks Fred.
I still have A7R2 so no eye-af but good to know nonetheless. I dont shoot much as i used to but still use TAP with my CV 40/1.4 and 75/1.5

I still shoot my original TAP on my A7RII with the Voigtlander Nokton 35/1.2 II. My original TAP I bought in 2016 never had the problems that many people experienced with looseness . . . but I suspect it will happen at some point. Maybe?

It's probably already there if you check it closely. This was not a production issue where some adapters were affected and others weren't. It's a design flaw.
To test it, put the camera in macro mode and lightly push adapter extension inwards at the top. If it moves, it has the wobble.

I enjoy focusing manually but sometimes AF comes in handy. That's when TAP is a wonderful tool, although far from perfect.
agreed. also less weight using a normal adapter instead of TAP too when trying to minimize lightness. thats why i love the a7r2 + 40/1.4 combo for the compactness and lightness.

Maybe I should get a Nikon Z camera for my many Leica M lenses?
How well do Z cameras handle Leica WA lenses?

I would strongly advise you to hold off from getting a Nikon Z camera, unless there are other compelling reasons (apart from autofocusing M lenses) that would justify the purchase of another camera system. Chinese Copy Cat Culture will almost certainly ensure that an E-mount version of this M->Z adapter will be released before too long.

I'm also considering getting a Z body just for this adapter, but mainly to get AF with my Nikon manual lenses via a Nikon-F-to-M adapter. The Z bodies have a thinner sensor stack allowing for sharper corners not only with M glass, but even with wide angle SLR lenses. Plus I prefer Nikon colors, white balance and image processing.
