Thank you for the great stuff!
Makes me want to take 135 and go shoot some plants!
Images from 135 APO seem to be on warmer side?
From my memory, the 40 is the coolest and the 135 the warmest of all Batis. Maybe someone can confirm.
I love the Batis 135 for all kinds of applications...
The colors are on the warm side of natural and have a lot of punch, yet wonderful subtle delineation.
Notably, it has great color and contrast from wide open. Not that it doesn't improve even more stopped down a stop, obviously.
Dimensionality and pop does increase even more stopped down, but is already remarkable wide open.
The sharpness is excellent, but more in terms of actual detail and not artificial crispness.
The bokeh is just delicious.
The APO design is ultra effective at eliminating chromatic aberrations, especially the dreadful longitudinal.
Most striking about the Batis 135 is the fantastic cropability due to the mix of 'high detail' and 'lack of aberrations'. Its just incredible...
I use it as a 135/2.8 (60mp), APSC cropped 200/4 (26mp) AND up to 300/6.5 (12mp) on my A7R5. I leave my 70-200m2 home with comfort often even if reach is important for my occasion.

So far I have found the colors of the Batis 135 to be very neutral. Otherwise I agree 100%. It's a wonderful lens.
I've only had the B135 for a few days but I'm already loving it...
ZEISS Batis 2.8/135
1/60 second and razor sharp; The image stabilization on the B135 is really effective, and I don't use longer times on the non-stabilized Batis 40/2 CF either.
