This old truck was on private property so I could only shoot along the fence line from public property but still managed to get a couple angles and some nice compression from the Batis 135mm..

For some reason I missed this review by Mark Galer. He revisited the Batis 135mm last year and talks about it in comparison to other 135s, having now used it for several years. Sharing here in case others find it interesting: &t=1153s

If it comforts you I can say that I took the Batis 135 to many photography walks just to find out that I could not find suitable subjects, or didn't makeit work the way I wanted. It took me quit many outings before I started to click with it. But once I got the hang of it, it became much easier. I could compare it to using super wide angle for the first time; first it's very difficult to make shots that seem to work, but once you get the idea how wide angles should be used, it becomes very rewarding. It's a kind of same with the Batis 135.

135mm is new to me too. I've always been interested in the 135 Batis because it's an APO and I really like the Batis series. I just wasn't sure if I could really use 135mm. When there were rumors that Zeiss would no longer make lenses in the future, I ordered one anyway. Now I find that 135mm is more versatile than I thought.
