Shocked. That's 200 f/2 rendering right there.
I definitely agree. If you told me up front that it was from the 200/2, I wouldn't have thought twice. And I shoot my 200/2 all the time as its my favorite lens.
I'm still not sure why I'm hanging out in this thread, I'm trying to resist the 105. Haha. But a lens this fast, with its relative reach, it would be a fabulous event lens, let alone portraits.
I think this Nikon prime lens thread has set a record. Ten pages so far and not a single post (I think) claiming Sigma will be introducing one soon that will be sharper, nicer bokeh, better, oh and of course cheaper
Nice work by the way Nikon , you'll be getting more of my money very soon.

I'm not a fan of the busy sigma bokeh and strange AF inconsistencies so I'm thrilled to not discuss sigma!

These shots make me so sooo glad I sold the chubby!! Can't wait for this weekend
That
Was fast! I've had my 300mm f/2.8G VR II for sale for over a month now and hardly any bites! I have it on Craigs list and camera gear on Facebook. It doesn't look like it will sell, so I'll probably trade it in at the camera store. I was quoted $3000 for it. I want to sell it for $4000. Guess I'll have to settle for $3k😢

Wonder what 85mm 1.4G owners think?
the 85mm 1.4G owners who don't own a 58mm 1.4G probably won't blink.
they realize that they have a true stallion of a lens, at a reasonable price, in an insane light weight package for an 85 1.4.
if they own a 58G, they may sell the 85G b/c (to some) the two are close enough to warrant a shake in the bag (which is why I sold my 85 last month).
