The cyclist isn’t the subject but it is part of the story.
This photo wasn’t meant to be a studio style portrait isolated from the environment, it’s a moment from a walk in the park, and parks are living spaces.
People jog, bike, pass through, and interact with the setting. Including the cyclist helps convey that natural activity.
Instead of being a distraction, the cyclist adds depth, scale, and a sense of place, like this shot:

It is not ruined, they have plenty of shots to enjoy and remember that afternoon with the family at the park:
Great series - I bet they are thrilled. Were they shot wide open? Thanks for the inspiration! I've been using mine stopped down to f/2 at headshot distances, but need to try it wide open at full body distances like yours.

Thank you for the kind words, all are shot wide open.
I’m kind of heading the other way with my f mount keeper lenses.
I have a Z9 and Z8 that my 105e, 58g and Tamron 35 1.4 adapt well to. However, I still prefer to use them native on my D5. I’m well covered with z mount glass for my needs and don’t have a need for additional lenses.
When I acquired my Z9 I gave up my D850 and kept my D5 which was the right move at that time. Now that I don’t use the D5 for sports anymore, I really miss the D850. With the D850 still available new at a great price I’m considering moving on from the D5 and picking up a D850.
I guess instead of hoping for these lenses in z mount I’m considering going back to a camera I always really enjoyed using these lenses on. I know I will use them more on a D850. Kind of like scratching an itch I’ve had for some time now.

I'm in the same place. Got rid of my D850 when I got the Z8 and a few Z-mount lenses and kept my D5 for all my f-mount glass. Recently I did a shoot with the D5 and it reminded me of how much I enjoy shooting with the single digit DSLR bodies. While I don't miss the D850 (as good as it was) I would really miss the D5.
I understand as still I like the D5 and have owned almost every single digit body from D1H to D5. My Z9 has taken on that duty now.
The 105e on the D850 was always one of my favourite combos. That’s one of several attractions back to that body and I feel I will use the 105e more on the D850 than adapting or on the D5.
It’s definitely a want more than a need.
Still a good time to buy used for Z mount.
A Plena version for Z would be very tempting, but I don’t think Nikon is ready for it. A 105 Plena would canibalise the F version as well as the 135 Z. Long ago it took Nikon several years before the 135 DC was followed by the 105 DC.
