Interesting, but correct me if I'm wrong, don't some of these companies get a patent, then 5, 10 years later you never see the lens?

How much is in the budget? Used 85 1.4 is about half the price of a new 105 1.4. Big difference.

There's some available in Australia for $3289, they are charging a premium since they have stock...other stores are around $2980.

the 85mm 1.4G owners who don't own a 58mm 1.4G probably won't blink.
they realize that they have a true stallion of a lens, at a reasonable price, in an insane light weight package for an 85 1.4.

if they own a 58G, they may sell the 85G b/c (to some) the two are close enough to warrant a shake in the bag (which is why I sold my 85 last month).

If I only had the money, I would sell my 85 1.8G and get the 58....

The 58 rules!!!!! I have one for me and one for the wife. I could shoot the 58 for 99% of the time. Get one!

Ey brah I been postin images... not mine, but images.. from the Chubino itself.

When I sold my 200/2, I had a strong feeling Nikon will come out with a new 135 or 105 which is more travel-friendly.. And they did! Cheers.

They will blink as tears start falling down their cheeks after looking at the 105 1.4E images...

May as well name this the "Talk about it" thread and start a new one when you actually have lens in hand, posting your own photos.

MEN, definitely talk way more than women, sheesh.

Just owning a third party lens depresses me.
It's like replacing your bumpers with fiberglass bodykit

This should stir some pot...

Paying double for a lesser performing lens with poor build quality because it has 'Nikon' on it would depress me. I'm not a snob though and buy the best tool for the job to take pictures.

There are better quality cheaper priced after market parts for almost all cars. Do I put genuine mazda brake pads on my car? No, because many brands outperform them for half the price because they don't have OEM tax added.
