I guess I fall into the category of "other service provider" I didn't get that email even though I requested this information several times... I was never told that pay would be based on tenure with the company or that because I am not a photographer that my work is considered of "lesser" value to be paid on time. As I clearly understand photographers are the backbone of this company... I didn't mess up-- GFM did.... I still did work for them (delivered it on time in their timeframe) which they used to help gain accounts... I shouldn't have to wait for payment because they now have a tiered system of who gets paid first.. who is more important to the company...etc... How about paying the people who do work for you period. I find this very offensive.

And maybe I am incorrect but this email was sent to all the photographers... but not other vendors they owe money too like myself.

Yes it says they base their pay on certain factors... not totally on the oldest invoices but rather by how they will help the company re-coop. For example if I was willing to continue to shoot for GFM.. (which I can't..).. I would be moved ahead of someone else-- who has been waiting say 6 months or more.

Based on the declining quality of the event results GFM needs to stop blacklisting and start healing the wounds they have created. No matter what they do to improve their business model if they don't fix the bleeding quality nobody will want to pay for the crap they have been posting with the continued hiring of photographers that just graduated from high school photo class. They need to address the quality or they will continue be spiral out of control. Blackballing qualified photographers need to be replaced with encouraging the blackballed to return to the GFM family. Maybe they will survive for another season but eventually the need to be honest with themselves and admit alternative facts has not been good for their success. Who doesn't feel a little betrayed by the way they were "handled" this last season.

Shoo shoo. Completely agree. This was terribly managed and allot of wounds need heeled. Reading the letter he has offered an olive branch to continue shooting if you are interested.

I think it's worth noting that I had been promised along with a contract to have been paid in 45 days or receive 5% interest on overdue payment, and that interest never came for my late payment. In a matter of fact, every email regarding that interest was ignored.
Just be cautious moving forward, for those of you who chose to contract with them again. I find it unlikely they will be willing to actually pay out that 10% since they refused to pay out 5%.

Yes, the Facebook group for photographers exists. It even has some posts about the payment issues.

I wondered how long it would take for someone to post the GF email. I took it positively and hope the company survives, pays everyone it owns and again becomes a solid peofessional photography employer and outlet.

i got the email as well but took it as public whining
they are a damaged brand and I would never even consider shooting for them again and I suspect they will struggle to get good talent to shoot for them again.

It is a shame that sharing that information was so delayed. It is also a shame that it didn't go out to all contractors who are owed money. It was helpful for me to see it posted here since I still have yet to get any communication from GFM about my 6 month late payment. I would still love to know why I was offered to do work in July and never told about any possible delays in payment or financial problems within the company--- When I would follow up about my payment I would be told that my payment must have been lost in the shuffle and would be sent out to me right away and not to worry. I had to discover the financial problems on my own by reading the Runners World article. In which case I was shocked. It is difficult for me to feel bad for GameFace after they were not up front with me from the beginning and knew when I completed several projects for them that they could not pay me anytime soon. I know I have read that they are not sitting on "piles of money" --so why lie about it? Why not just tell me from the beginning. I literally had to google GFM to discover what was going on. I would just love to know why no one told me when I agreed to do work. Is there any possible answer or excuse? To me the act of lying to me is worse then the delay in payment. And to top it off.. there is no apology.
