It depends on how you want to live. I sell RE in the area. $800K is a very average house in an OK neighborhood, nothing special. San Francisco is worse than Boston (i'm a former Bostonian), but the Bay Area is unique because you have SF and Silicon Valley and the points in between. There's so much tech money and such high demand that it surges everything upward. Of course, salaries in these areas tend to be higher, so... it's a mess.

I shot the Tough Mudder Central Florida for GameFace last weekend. It went well, but consisted of long, tiring days. I asked one of its principle reps about something I had read about GameFace starting to pay expenses and hotels. I was told that is not the case, despite the rumors.

That person is either lying or uninformed. They aren't "rumors". It's a fact that they weren't paying people for months and months, often to the tune of thousands of dollars. I'll be interested as to when you get paid.

That's sort of true. Maybe GFM isn't offering to pay hotels or expenses, but I have a recently emailed contract offer that does stipulate a travel bonus. Idk if this is still in practice, but GFM was at some time recently offering SOME compensation beyond strict shooting hours...

But what good are offers for increased pay or expense payments if one isn't getting paid?
If they declare bankruptcy - you will just be one of the many unsecured creditors waiting in line for any assets that remain after paying off the secured creditors first.

For anyone trying to call or purse legal action.
Apparently the main number isn't functional. Some of the Executives lines redirect to a conference call line or don't ring at all. Also, when calling directory assistance in Boston they no longer have a number registered for Gameface.

I got a few recent offers and I politely declined. A couple had mileage and a bonus offer.
I am waiting to see if things settle down for them before I accept any contracts. I wish them all the best. I always had great experiences with Gameface. Fun, easy shoots and quick payment.
