Why not!
I just bought an used copy of this lens. The seller swears it's 100% great.
Thanks Fred. I have found this thread in particular to be extremely useful.
Thanks to it I bought Choppy from Guy and have no intention to ever sell it.
It works well with my A7rII and A9 on TAP.
I am following the FE 12-24/4 lens discussion threads with great interests but will wait a bit before making up my mind whether to add that lens to my tool set. We'll see what the final consensus will be - if there is one.

I own a perfect copy of this lens and a perfect lox21 and always find myself reaching for this one first, it's just that good. After reading Fred's 12-24 thread though I'm worried about the results if he tests it against the CV15 as it is clearly better than the CV10, probably on par with the lox21 but depending on the CV15 result I fear a bout of GAS coming on

I wish I saw this thread before I purchase a used e mount from a seller here.
Mine is smeared. Like badly smeared. I am trying to get a hold of him to get it returned. I shoot indoors and I can't live with soft corners.
Are all the new ones being sold now good?
With all due respect, when you buy a used lens here, if it's not damaged or the seller didn't give misrepresentation in the description of the lens, I would just have to suck it up and get rid of it myself. I wouldn't ask for a refund from the seller. You are getting a big discount buying used. He is not selling a new lens with warranty and he is not Amazon, B&H. If you want the privilege of trying different copies to get a good copy, I would buy it new from a retailer.

Just my $0.02.
Agreed.
If I'm really concerned about it (usually in a trade situation where things are a bit more complex around 'value' of a lens) I'll ask for sample images, and specifically state beforehand what I'm looking for. I turned down one trade a few weeks back because I didn't think the lens was as sharp as my rental copy I had. It's probably plenty sharp for the guy that uses it, but it's on the buyer IMO to sort that out ahead of time.
One the flip side, I do always try and post sample images taken from the lens I'm selling to avoid this scenario from s a seller perspective. This way I can at least say that I gave the buyer the option to review a few images.

Sorry if my post is causing loading issues, this is the first time I've posted images on this forum. Am I embedding the images correctly? I copy/pasted the BBCode link in Flickr and used original size.
Edit: I re-linked them using "large" size instead of original and it loads fine now. I guess the original file size is too large?

It's fine. I see them. I'm not really big on decentering issues, and I don't spend time shooting test charts, so not really qualified to answer your question, but I'd be happy using that.
