No the Mc-11 cannot mount EF-S lenses. However, it can mount APSC format DC Art lenses from Sigma.

Not sure what you mean by your statement. I have a EF-S mount Tokina and it works with the MC-11, although the combo AF also hunts. By "mount" do you mean ability to fit or ability to AF without hunting?
By the way, the Tamron 28-75mm/f2.8 is a full frame lens as stated in the previous post, and I have one too.

A true EF-S lens is only made by Canon as they do not license third parties to use that apparently.
any of you guys tested sony a7s ii with sigma mc 11 & canon 24-105 f4L IS on video mode?
and if the "steady shot" on camera works if the lens IS is set to OFF?
thank you!
Canon's version of EF-S has a deeper lens mount area that won't fit into the MC-11 or their FF cameras. Third party brands didn't include this, and you can mount them freely on any adapter or camera.
Just picked up an MC-11. Already have the Metabones IV, and so far, the Sigma seems to work just as well on my Canon 100mm F/2, Sigma 8-16mm (EF-S), and Sigma 150-600mm C. I'll be able to do some in depth testing next week.
My 50L works fine with the MC-11. I've used in low light, where is does struggle to obtain AF, but so does the 50L on my 5DsR. I'm talking REALLY low light for rock performance in a house lit by Xmas lights!
I'm cautiously satisfied with central point AF on AF-S setting, not follow focus or other automation.

Wow...Sweet^^Love that mushy Sigma bokeh...
I confess, I didn't go through every page in this thread...but...Is there a concise and current list of lenses that are compatible with the MC-11?
How are the Canon 1.2's?.... I have to say, I kinda miss my 50L
Nice...I typically use my 50mm for a walkaround in single shot...So, no biggie with low light and tracking and such. I already have my 50L...Just waiting for the MC-11 to come off backorder...I'll be able to test it head to head vs the 50/1.4ZA...

Using the MC-11 with my Tamron 28-75mm/f2.8 on the A6000, I find it hunts before achieving focus. Test was made in the shade on a partly cloudy day.
Test #1 parameter: Shade. 30mm, Av setting, center focus. Lens motor goes back and forth twice before achieving focus.
Test #2 parameter: Shade. 60mm, same setting as above. Same result as test #1 but slightly slower.
Test #3 parameter: 60mm, no shade, but diffused (stronger) light: Same result as #2.
All photos shown are full frame, uncropped (except for last one) and resized.
Firmware installed was 1.04. Results may vary depending on camera model. Still unanswered at this board: does PDAF kick in with the A6000+ MC-11? ...Show more →
If back and forth movement occurs then PDAF does not kick in yet.
My experience with A7ii + MC-11 + Tamron 28-75 is that the focus is fast and snap on, feel like native lens. But in the dark and low contrast, it hunts and not precise.

I'll try again in better light. Looks like the A7ii and A6000 has quite similar specs, although the former is full frame
Only A7II, A7rII, A9, A6300 and A6500 allow OS Phase detect with MC-11 and non Sigma branded EF lenses from Canon or Tamron.
The other cameras, even if some of them have native PD AF (like the A6000 ) will use Contrast detect AF. i.e. very slow.
On my A7 II , 70-200mm f4 IS , 24-70mm 2.8 II , 17-40mm f4 and Sigma 50 Art all work well.
Sigma 85mm non art 1.4 works but hunts a bit more in lower light.
Very happy with the way the adapter allows me to use my Canon glass,
Just be sure Camera and Adapter are updated to latest firmware.
Latest MC11 firmware really made a difference, especially with the 70 200 F4 which is razor sharp all the way to 200 at f4
This is really a shame, Sorry for you folks who upgraded your MC-11.
It was a close shave for me. My first thought was to do it but seeing that, apparently, version 1.06 only added compatibility with the latest Sigma lens, which I don't own, I didn't bother .. luckily.
After some testing, Oddly My 70-200 f4 IS will work in bright light , but when I panned over to the shade, it stopped. Shame as thats the only lens I really wanted to work.
Siggy 50 Art works fine
Siggy NON art does not work
Canon 24-70mm II and 17-40mm does the same as the 70-200 f4. Works in bright light, but once you hit a shady area, it stops AF.
O well
Upate; Bright Light makes no diff , it locks focus once or twice then stops , no matter what the light .
That would be the question of the day, but I have a feeling since canon EF lenses were never really supported, its really not something that is Sigma's fault. They released a firmware update for their lenses, and my 50 art is fine and a little quicker.
I will miss the performance of the 70-200 f4 IS, it was stellar.
Would love to be able to revert, not sure that will be possible.
