BTW -- what is the minimum focusing distance of the Loxia 85? I always run into trouble with 85s being further away than I prefer for close-up subjects. I have a Samyang in Canon mount with a variable helicoid adapter to Sony that gives me a close-up option, and the total price is very affordable, but the Loxia certainly has a softer look near wide open and up close!
The 85 Lox works great with extension tubes, BTW. I have a Kenko set (10/16mm) and have used them together for flowers a few times.

Hi Danny, thanks for responding. The images I'm seeing from that Loxia 85 look outstanding!
I have extension tubes, but don't like carrying the extra bulk just in case I find a subject I'd like to get closer to. Same for close-up diopter lenses. I've had quite a difficult time finding any close focusing 85 and 135 lenses that are reasonable priced. To get around it, I can use my 90 TS-E or 100L, but until I got the focusing helicoid, I couldn't have an 85 shoot from close-focus to infinity without changing.
As you might have guessed, I don't like changing lenses outdoors if I can avoid it.
I wish designers could manage to get the MFD down to about 0.5m instead of around 1m for most 85 and 135. Fortunately, I don't shoot these FLs very often, so it's not a big issue, just one of my few optical complaints.
My Loxia 21 has quite stiff focusing. Always has. I have all four and it is much stiffer than the others. It does not really bother me, but if it is not normal I will probably send it in. With no floating elements and such a tiny amount of excursion, I can see no reason for this. Anybody else have this issue?
